I didn`t bother with the 'other' option, as there could have been another 5000 songs I could have listed, & I know whoever visits this message will have their own opinions of what excatly constitutes a really crap single.

'Sunshine' is Garbage Gates new "effort": for those of you who have yet to hear it, trust me, youve had a lucky escape.... for now.

Out of the twenty pieces of excrement listed above, I`d vote for the worst of the lot being 'Seven Nation Army' by those over-rated couple of inbreeds The White Stripes. Just seeing those slimy siblings on the cover of every "cool" or "leftfield" music magazine makes me want to jump in a vat of thirty year-old shit.

Aaaanyway....

G Gates pips it for me. So bland its indiscernible in direct sunlight.

I can't possibly vote in this unless "We Built This City (On Rock and Roll)" is added as an option.

Otzi bastard. Not only his musical abominations, but his face, "voice", even his bloody name. :\pissedoff:

All I can say is...."Hello? Is it me you're looking for?" (always love the video, where Lionel puts down the phone just as the girl picks up. Classic stalker move) :thumb:

In regards to the inclusion of Chrissie Hynde on the list, I would have put "I'll Stand by You" on the list. VH1 played the video to death back in '97 or '98, and I believe the song is the lowest point in the history of Western civilization.....:nonono:

'Somebody' by DM is fairly unlistenable.

Hmm, the above, with the exception of R. Kelly's, isn't too bad. But, if any of these were on, I'd vote:

  1. "Cameltoe" - Fannypack
  2. "The Sign" - Ace of base
  3. Anything by Creed
  4. "Wannabe" - Spice girls
  5. "Hot in herre" - Nelly, who should just win just because of the ridiculous spelling of this song.

It's gotta be My Ding-a-ling, by Chuck Berry.

R Kelly wins this by a mile - hearing that song makes me break out into a cold sweat and run to the bathroom to review my breakfast

Hello by Lionel Ritchie still gives me the shits to this day, and that fucken stupid video that goes with it (i saw it on the weekend) is vomit inducing. And what's this about The White Stripes being inbreeds, they are not brother and sister, they used to be married to each other who still manage to get along with one another. I thought everybody knew this by now.

The Birdy Song, all those fucks flapping around the dancefloor put me off guinea fowl for life

I've gone for the Mariah Carey one. Thankfully, I'm very bad at remembering details of things I don't like (after all what's the point?) but is this the one she did with a non-descript boyband that reached number 1 in UK last year?

No matter what your pop preferences were, everybody across the board said it was awful at the time, they weren't even putting in any effort in trying to sound as if they had any soul. You could see from their faces in the video they were just thinking "will this do?" and counting the money. Yet it still made number one (then again, in 'light' teen-pop who doesn't ? but it was definitely pop's recent lowest moment.

Hmm.. The ultimate trash of all singles - "The Thong song" by Sisco. I still have bad memories of being forced to listen to such garbage.

I voted for Lionel Richie, but he and Phil Collins both make me wanna hurl.

oh yah...the Who don't EVEN belong on that list!

I voted for Phil Collins on this one. Half the songs on the list shouldn't be there, though. Whose idea was it to put Jamiroquai and James in there, for example? Nothing wrong with either of them!

i voted for the white stripes. ok band, but grossly overrated and i heard that song at my job almost everyday. :nonono:

I admit, only on this board, that I detest this song. It's cacophonic and the lyrics make Barney's look good. But, I'm only saying it here, since that song happens to be the favorite song of this girl I like a lot and she never criticizes the stuff I listen to, even PSB.

Seven Nation Army? It's a good song. Sit Down (James) is also great. My vote goes to "Macarena" (Los del Río), by far the worst song ever...

Are you sure? I think the Lambada, in terms of dance or any kind of music, was far worse than the Macarena.

out of the choices listed, i had to choose that william ocean drivel. however, my true choice would be anything by the vengaboys, particularly, 'we're going to eat pizza.'

Maybe I was a trifle rash in including 'Sit Down', but that got SO over-played in the early 90s I just got sick to death of it. Also some cretin invented a really gormless dance to the song where everyone, erm... sits down. Genius.

I stand by voting for 'Seven Nation Army' though. It is just AWFUL, but because everybody thinks the White Stripes are the coolest band around (Lord knows why), it ain`t a popular decision to put it on the Worst Single shortlist. I HATE those White siblings!

Macarena is not the worst song of all time, but it is the most annoying by far, but anything by Right Said Fred is guaranteed to be Grade A crap

Where's the absolutely cringeworthy "I will always love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" by Bobby Brown's favorite punching bag?

Agreed. The only bands worse than them right now are Evanescence - a Christian band in disguise - and Simple Plan. And both have incredibly overplayed songs right now. Before I left work before college began, both songs were on constant half hour rotation on the local top 40 radio station.

Glad to be the one who pushes R Kelly's nose out in front. Here's hoping his jailer swallows his key when justice finally catches up with him.

Bit disappointed to see a few votes for Right Said Fred - Deeply Dippy is a belting party tune, "Aw see those legs man!"

Shame the depressingly tedious Kings of Leon don't warrant a mention.
