Waterrat's "Gigography"

There seems to be alot of references to this site on this forum, and it is a very useful resource on the web. I think, though, people misunderstand what it is. It's nothing more than a list of someone's tape collection (NOT watterrat's) that used to be posted on the internet back in the 90s. This was a guy out of Norway as I recall who (obviously) had quite an extensive, but incomplete collection. This is a catalog of HIS tapes which has somehow become the final word in NO setlists. I'm sure it's 98% right, but there are some omissions and errors.

Watterrat's site appeared right at the time this guy's list went down, so I don't know if they came to some kind of agreement or what.

Dozens of errors. I spent hours pointing them out and filling in the gaps, but he ignored them. Never mind, my definitive guide to New Oder live is nearly finished, and will be launched as soon as possible. Includes clips of each gig for sound quality reference.

I don't always, hence the delays in sending out CDs to people !! I've been working on this site for some time, well over a year, and it will be ready hopefully in the new year, assuming my smashed hand improves by then and I can start using two hands on the keyboard again !

I actually had not known (or forgotten) the history behind his listing. Over the years it's been augmented with submissions sent in from folks, so it probably wasn't initially 98% complete.

Waterrat (whom I correspond with from time to time, and is a good guy) told me he doesn't have much time to maintain it, so I offered my services, at least until Reg's listing is ready to go! What I have is really just a scratch pad until something more proper is put into place.

I am EAGERLY looking forward to your guide. I assume you have the server space and bandwidth covered, I will be more than happy to assist or mirror your site if you would like that.

Regarding Waterrat (Anthony), he told me he doesn't have much time to update things as often as he would like due to familial obligations. I know how that is. What I'm currently doing is mirroring his page at http://www.new-order.net/no/gigs and merging in changes that need to be made that I have run into. I just started doing this very recently, though...

I know. But the Watterrat list has one advantage. It's contiguous, and can be printed out (comes out to 32 pages or so I believe). How flexible is your system with respect to allowing submissions? Can only webmasters update entries for live stuff on the NOOL site?

Undoubtably it's morphed some through the years (the site I'm talking about went down before the 98 shows I believe). I've just been active trading lately and have had to convince some folks of some things that didn't mesh w/ waterrat's list were actually true. And you're right Anthony is a nice guy who I have both corresponded and traded with. Also, I wasn't trying to imply that the list was 98% complete but rather that the information that is there is correct most of the time.

Likewise, Tim, I also eagerly await your resource as I'm sure it may be as definitive as it will ever get.

The site will take the form of an index with each year separated, and the setlists for all that year will be available. Each gig will have a 30 second clip for sound quality evaluation purposes, and where notes can be found over at New-Order.net, the link will be provided. If any photos/ticket scans exist for the show, they will be available by link. At present (though this is still subject to change) the site will not have a database back end, I will keep the database separately. Hopefully it should be up and running by the new year.
