I know I'm doing the right thing, as the air tickets are my No.1 priority, but it's so nerve-wracking waiting to see if anyone bids, wondering if I've put the price too high or too low, etc...

What's with this US thing? Thought infiltration was a bit more intense now than when the Pilgrim fathers first went over? Surely you need a job to move there, and then wouldn't they pay your air-fare?

I know, I complained about Ali Gi on eBay's message board, & I got two warnings from eBay telling me to behave. Charming! He won't cough up, he gives me bad feedback for no other reason than I gave it him first, then I get a slapped wrist!
Thanks for the support though, Gary, this auction is a big slice of the cash I need for the plane tickets, so if my New Order collection doesn't sell, it's back to the drawing board with a vengeance... :(

jsb, god what a brave soul! i sympathise with you mate,i sold my original new order cd,vinyl,vid collection to a guy years ago on my local market,i probably only got around £100,but that was about ten years ago!
i think the price you are selling your collection for is ok.
if i was a newbie getting into new order and looking for an instant collection then i would have to spend a lot more time and money than the £250 you are asking for!

Thanks Nuts, I actually think £250 for such a varied collection is an absolute steal, but if it doesn't get bought, I'll have to reduce the price even further :(
The good news is, with less than 2 days to go on the auction, 9 people are "tracking" it according to My eBay Summary. If just one of those 9 places a bid, I'll be as happy as a pig rolling around in his own filth :)

Nobody bid so I've had to relist it at £200. I was fairly hopeful, 9 people were tracking it & over 200 people had viewed the eBay page, but it just didn't sell. Here's hoping I'm second time lucky.
What a miserable night, England are knocked out of Euro 2004 on penalities, & I don't sell my beloved NO collection when I'm absolutely desperate for the money! :(

I was fairly hopeful when I saw 9 people were tracking the auction, but that doesn't mean shit if they don't bid before it ends.
As for selling a kidney, nice idea, but I'd still rather sell my NO collection, not just because I need the money, but also it'll mean I won't have to pay through the nose to have all the CDs etc shipped over to America before I go. I'll be living with my in-laws for a good while when we get there, & though their house is very big, I don't want my NO collection or anything else I haven't parted with cluttering their space up...

It sold for just over £250, the price I originally listed it at. You'll be able to see the exact amount if you click on the second eBay link in this thread.

Did the guy pay up? If I'd seen this when you first listed it, I'd have bought it, taken out the couple of items I haven't got and sold it back to you at the same price when you had the money... DOH!

It is cheap, but you're never gonna recoup all it's value when you sell a collection as one job lot.

Which part of the States are you moving to?
The Garden State. I've seen a couple of killjoys at NOOL slag off NJ in the past, but when we went out there last summer for 6 weeks, the part we stayed in (Sussex County, for the most part) was beautiful, a helluva lot nicer than anywhere I've been to in the United Kingdom.

There isn't any point in us moving to San Diego. We're going to NJ to be closer to my wife's family, so as none of them live in Diego, there's not much point living there, though I don't doubt what you say about it being very nice. Actually, there's a chance we'll eventually move down to Georgia, but only 'cos the missus' parents want to get a 5-bedroom house down there & we're going with `em...
I know what you mean about certain parts of NJ tho', my better-half grew up in Newark in a real dodgy area, & didn't get out to the suburbs until her mother remarried (they now reside in Ogdensburg, which is gorgeous & very quiet). She told me she got bullied at school for being one of only two white kids in the whole school, which to an Englishman like me growing up in a predominately white neighbourhood, is rather bizarre, but it's like a different world, as the cliche goes...
Looking forward to moving there though, we go on November 10th. I got the tickets off cheapestflights.co.uk, & it's the first time I've paid for tickets online, so as is my natural mindset, I'm dead paranoid that there'll be a spanner thrown in the works, especially as they don't mail out our tix until about a week before we fly. Plus, as I didn't get insurance with them, I had to write to them with insurance details from a different broker, so I'm on tenterhooks waiting for them to call me & let me know that they received the info OK & everything can proceed to a happy, stress-free trip in under 4 months time.
It's no good for me health all this stress, y'know! Plus I have to sort out all my bills, hand in my months notice to our landlord etc, before we depart, so I'm gonna be a nervous wreck between now & November. Well, I am one now if truth be told, but it'll only get worse as time goes on!... :\ohwell:
