An Ideal for Living, Enigma 7"

What would be an appropriate price for the original 7" of "An Ideal for Living"? I remember back in the 80's it was around 130 GBP. How much would it be now? And is there a 100% chance to tell the original from the existing fake copies?

One sold on Ebay about 3 months ago for around £900. Personally, I think this is far too high, but stranger things have happened on Ebay. You can check this link to see if your copy is genuine or not.

If the record had the original fold out cover and was in good condition, I'm sure you would be able to sell it for £400.

There is a copy on Ebay at the moment. The record is original, but the cover is a copy. You may want to watch it to see what it goes for.

I really, really doubt that the one on ebay is an original.

nah,a fair price even in todays market for the ist press should be up to £150 for a mint copy. Take no notice of ebay,many sellers get their friends to bid on the item just to push the price up. i have seen it many,many times. i remember a while back a blue mon 12 gouing for £96 just for the bog standard 83 12". crazy isn't it! i an still looking for a copy of aifl but most def not pay over a ton & a half for the pleaseur. regards

150 GBP that sounds fair, and I would pay that (so if anyone has a spare copy, please contact me ). Everything above 200 GBP seems to be a bit crazy IMHO. It's not the rarest JD item considering the initial pressing was 1,000.

I could think of a lot more to do with £150 than spend it on a 7inch single
