WANTED - ADIDAS trainers

If anybody knows anywhere to get their hands on any deadstock adidas trainers or models from the 80's etc let me know and I will give you top dollar for them, thanks in advance!

Tried eBay? There's heaps, I used to deal a lot of deadstock collectors' Nikes.

I'm actually after a pair of the Adidas Limited Ed Berlin Superstars! Or a pair of the Underworlds.

On the cheap of course.

I got this pair from Melbourne, they were made in the Dunlop factory near there!

That's the ones size 10, now if I can only find them.

Don't know where you're from Bod, but Adidas Romes have an interesting history in Aus. They were really popular in the 70s and early 80s here but by the late 80s and 90s, everyone was wearing more techy kicks and they got a bad name. They were the sneaker of choice for 'bogans' or 'westies' (suburban kids into V8s, metal and long hair). Now with the whole ongoing retro trend, they've been re-released here and are something of a fashion icon again.

Kirschy's probably been wearing them since 1981.

Actually I had my first pair of Romes sometime in the 70s. Romes were actually made in Oz for a while. I thoght Dunlop KT26s were the bogan sneakers.

I find collecting trainers very, very weird...

However, I can't deny that I do have two pairs of Adidas, but I bought them from new and actually wear them...

Seems to have been a short-lived experiment with skateboarding gear - at least they don't have any reference on their English language websites to them anymore. They're "Jabon Stripes" according to the lable inside.

Going by the photos, the rear sole does seem a bit higher than in the originals

Perhaps in the States. In Gemany back when I was growing up it was almost unpatriotic tp wear sneakers other than Adidas with the possible exception of Puma. This has all changed of course as they've been Nikeised as well.

Not here...

Adidas are actually a serious sports equipment manufacturer (as are Nike, scarily...), and their clothes usually look ever so slightly too old (by about 5 months or so...) for utter skangers to wear them. During the 90's, the stripey trakkies were skang-wear though.

I knew the brand was from Germany. Is it really true? If so I'm really impressed that a German (sport-)fashion company could get such a big marketshare and popularity worldwide.

Adidas and Puma were founded by two brothers, Adi and Rudolf Dassler, both in the early 1920's.

The other big rap-culture sports clothing company would be Reebok. Who are from the UK....

Nike is the only one of the big manufacturers to be from the US.

Nice one Mark. I'll keep an eye on this site.

Nice site that, hopefully he stocks it up well in the coming weeks but I am mainly after deadstock adidas not the re-issue stuff that is on the site. those roms are re-issue and can be picked up for pennies.
