To those of you either so lucky to get one for free, or crazy enough to buy one on ebay: How do you tell the difference between a genuine copy of the remix promo of WFTSC and a cheap counterfeit copy?

BTW: shouldn't we have a special forum for collector's items or something like that? Don't think this is the right place, and Digital Republic isn't either.

I'm pretty sure my copy is genuine.

Distinguishing features:

disc is very see-through - more than normal CD-Rs.

Matrix info:

CD-R UG 80E(well hidden on inside edge of silver portion)

Inlay: perforated edges (small), perforated spine (large)

Standard CD acetate really. however it does have an audible glitch during EGG (Cicada Remix) at 1 minute 28 seconds...

Might be a boot after all. Anyone else have the same glitch during EGG?

thanks for that info. Now I#m pretty sure I've also got a legit copy. At least my disc has all the features you described.

The GIAUE USA promo I have is a full CD issue (i.e. silver, not CD-R) with code PRO-CDR-101687. Full matrix is ifpiL909...Z48169...M1S1...1PROCDR101687-202

9 tracks in all:

Album Version (5.36) DJ Dan Club Mix (8.05) Bill Hamel Vocal Mix (8.39) MARK!'s True N.O. Vox (7.30) Morel's Pink Noise Mix (7.49) DJ Dan Mixshow (6.09) Mac Quayle Extended (7.57) Morel's Pink Noise Dub (7.19) MARK!'s True N.O. Dub (7.30)

Disc has no booklet, just the generic Warner back cover with credits on...

thanks for this, just a wondering is the glitch there on the 7" remixes promo? I don't seem to be able to hear it.

Nah, no glitches on that one as far as I'm aware. I remember comparing the two promos a few months ago and the 7" remixes one seemed clear of the glitches the 5 Tracks CDRs all seem to have.

Thanks Al. So what are the tracks on the 5 track promo? Full versions of 5 of the 6 tracks but which one is left off?

Ermmmmm... without the tracklisting in front of me it's the following:

BLT (Richard X Mix Full Length) - As on Japanese Singles CD2
Everything's Gone Green (Cicada Remix) - As on the 2nd UK 7"
Temptation (Secret Machines Remix Full Length) - As on USA Singles CD2
Everything's Gone Green (Martin Butterich Remix) - Unreleased
WFTSC (Jacknife Lee Mix Edit) - As on the 3rd UK 7"

The Cicada and Jacknife Lee have glitches (I think) but it's been a couple of months now since I listened to mine. A shitty mastering really on all of the 5 Tracks CDRs.

I haven't forgotten your email either! :D

Admitting it is a silly Question is it worth my tracking down the Martin Butterich Remix? What is it like?

Anyway, I'll let you get on with governing ;)
