Seems I was late... why does this alwats happen when I'm in the subway ![]()
Don't mind my post, I'll merge the 3 threads.
As luck would have it, one of Karen's bridesmaids is getting married that weekend. Unless the Order are on the first night, I will be missing it. Unless I can get a helicopter from Gloucester to Barcelona after the wedding. Gutted.
Is there any truth in that New Order are roumered to be playing the Bennicassim festival as well (FIB Hinikken):)
If this is confirmed, this is DEFINITELY a MAYBE.
We could get enough of us fer a mini bus surely? Vikings on a European Tour![]()
Put it this way, the Spanish version of the Benicassim site has a New Order feature, and they traditionally have features on the bands who are playing ![]()

I'd be up for that.......so long as some other fucker drives. No way am I going behind the wheel when everyone else is filling themesleves with ale!!!
It is confirmed, I received 3 mails from spain journalists about it this morning, and one from the editor in chief of Magic Magazine in France.
But seeing the lineup, they are sure headlining one of the nights.
Is Budvar happy right now? :D
This roadtrip might be better for the Benicassim one rather than the Barcelona one - better weather in August for a start, and more of us will be available

Dunno if anyone will be up fer driving, but it would be a great craic
I am trying to get hold of John now to see if he's up for this. I have decided I am DEFINITELY going. Maybe this time I will see a bit more of Barca, the last time we went we spent the whole day getting pissed with 5000 other Celtic supporters on Las Ramblas. The day was topped off with us knocking Barca out of the UEFA Cup:D
Defo up for this one. Fcuk driving though, you can fly for SFA to Barca.
Mickey Way will, of course, be going by train though!

I know the feeling, this is the same reason why I'm not doing Coachella!
That and the, uh, desert? I can barly live with 85 degrees, 100-110F will probably kill me! (in our system, this is, hum, 30C or 35C degrees I guess)
BTW, *ahem*, Warner Sweden is expecting them to do Hultsfred again... nothing confirmed, but you heard it here first ;)
Budvar is a very happy chappie right now Nicos. Tomorrow I am buying the tickets.

As for the weather, April weather in Spain is definitely better than during August, despite the risk of rain.
The "problem" is that you don't know which day New Order is playing before the beginning of may... at least was I told by some spanish journalist...
So which day are you going to buy then? ![]()
Ill be going.
Its right after my exams, and in my favourite city too. Couldnt be more perfect. I was at fiberfib Bennicassim last year, and would go back even if New Order werent playing, its fantastic.
Couldnt be better news. I have to admit a liking for the Human League too

Yes indeedy tickets just booked for the Festa. A train to Paris and then to Spain as the song goes...
All aboard the TEE...![]()
So our very own Denis Bergkamp is doing it the hard way![]()
I am in two minds now, I have been to Barca, but not to Germany before. I still think it will have to be Barca for the weekend though. Checked a few prices last night, talking around a ton for return flights.
Budvar me ole fruitcake, where are we staying?;)
What date do they plat Barcelona? My mother in law has a house in Alacante, might make a weekend or week of it ![]()
Shugster, pal, I am afraid I do not live in Barcelona anymore, since January last year I am leaving in Zaragoza, two and a half hours drive to Barcelona.
but I hope to see you all at Barcelona. I expect I will be doing Germany as well, though.

Mike, look at a map - Alicante to Barca?! Bit of a trek!
They're playing the Friday, I believe. I'll do all three days though, never been to Barca.

Oh Christ, there goes me fucking liver.....:(

A touch further Mike. Got the train from Barca to Valencia a few years ago and its a 3 hour journey. Alicante's a bit further down the coast so add a bit on.
You could spend a few days in Alicante after/before the Order, but a daily commute it aint.
What day are New Order confirmed for? It looks like my exams will wrap up on the 27th (Friday), at a push I could do Saturday night, Sunday would be perfect. Please do let me know if you have any info, and If you don’t want to post it, drop an email. I want to get to this gig, and want to start sorting it soon.
Im reposting my last post in the hope that at the top of the thread someone will help me, I need any info anyone has about this asap. Please!

Hi sHUG Was over at that game in Bareclona meself. Great craic outside that Irish pub in the square just off the Ramblas with everyone kicking footballs around. Actually if anyone is able to get a week away Salou is just an hour by train from Barcelona and the trains go every couple of hours. Reus and Gerona ( i think) are close by as well. Great city
Conor, unlucky mate - they're playing Friday. I don't think there is a festival on the Sunday? It's just Thurs to Sat, which is why most of us are flying back Sunday!
Budvar, Can you give any advice on hotels during the festival ? Which area of Barcelona should I look to get booked into ? Do you think there will be any problems getting booked up, especially with there being a festival on & it's a UK Bank holiday ?
