I was looking at a map on how to get to the Oakland concert from San Fran Airport, and noticed their is a toll on the Oakland/San Fran bridge. So my question is how much is it? and do you need exact change? We dont have tolls here, so this is new to me.
Question about Oakland bridge toll?

Tolls were subsequently raised to finance improvements to the bridge approaches, required to connect with new freeways, and to subsidize public transit in order to reduce traffic over the bridge. To cover the cost of the new span and other retrofit and various transit projects in the region, the toll for westbound automobile traffic rose from $1.00 to $2.00 and again in July 2004 to $3.00, along with other state-run bridges. A proposal for a $4.00 toll is expected soon. Eastbound traffic remains toll free.

We have the same in Canada.. you pay nothing to go to Prince Edward's Island, but when you want to get back on the continent, they wait for you with a fat 40$ fare...
:dead:
Ok I so its free to go SF to Oak, but you need to pay $3.00 to go Oak to SF. Sounds good to know!
One question left. Do you need exact change?
I recommend paying with a big pile of nickels. That should impress everyone who happens to be waiting in line behind you.
How does that line go from Blazin' Saddles??? Calling the governor an asshole for creating a toll road. "Somebody go back and get a shitload of dimes!!"
Looking forward to paying the tolls on I-88 as I invade Chicago.
Here's info on Bay Area bridge tolls:

And if you're a real traffic geek, check out the realtime traffic cameras at CalTrans:

If you're heading eastbound to Oakland Friday afternoon, you may want to give yourself some extra time 'cos of rush hour. Maybe there are some Bay Area members here who would have estimates on travel times.
that's why I'm flying into Oakland and using BART...after spending two hours on the Golden Gate Bridge, I ain't driving in that area this TIME around!!!
Yeah you have to pay to go to SF, maybe its to discourage people from comming in??? hmmm. what ever, i cant wait to go to the concert. i have floor seats, yeyuh
