The Barca tour's gonnae be shit hot. Fly out on the Wednesday which is the anniversary of Celtic winning the European Cup, then on the Thursday we will do a tour of the Nou Camp / Cathedral etc... Friday New Order gig, Saturday Celtic v Dundee Utd Scottish Cup Final, Sunday fly home
G-Man, I am checking a few possible venues for us to watch the Celtic game on the Saturday, I'll post a link to a couple of places on here. Tried phoning you a minute ago, guess yer still celebrating the win

Gutted to be honest Geri, but if yer a Celtic fan, the likelihood of getting a Scottish Cup Final ticket (if yer not a season ticket holder) is almost non existant.....or very costly via Ebay!
Shame cos it would be the 20th anniversary of my very first Cup Final, ironically we beat Dundee Utd 2-1 in the 100th Final, with my boyhood hero Davie Provan scoring THAT free kick. I was also lucky enough to be at the 88 final....again a 2-1 win against Utd in our Centenery season:D
I'll settle for watching it in Barca after seeing Neworder the night before
didn't mean to have a (serious) go at you, although looking back at my post, it does sound a bit schoolmistress like, sorry ! I can imagine these tickets being like golddust. The Bhoys better not suffer the same embarrassing feat as the Hibees

yep, i wasnt to see the cathedral & some of his buildings
of course i want to drink lots too, but there are a lot of bands on i want to catch - american music club, the bunnymen, gang of four, gravenhurst, iggy, josh rouse, kristin hersh (or will it be 50 foot wave?) maximo park, mercury rev, radio 4, sons & daughters, sonic youth, sondre lerche, the arcade fire, the futureheads, the go! team, the weddoes, tortoise & maybe the czars too

Yep, I'm there, but am saving my sightseeing for the Sunday (don't fly back until Monday).
Hibster - re: Kristen Hersh. She was on Radio 4 a few weeks back playing acoustic versions of 50 Foot Wave songs, so I'm guessing that's what she'll be doing at Barca.

We'll see, I guess: certainly Ms. Hersh is towards the top of my "must see" list (though I guarantee you'll never catch all the bands you listed above, mate!)
Which Muses tunes did she play, BTW?
god, it's going back a bit - was on a tour for her first solo album back in 94 - hips and makers
err mania, counting backwards & loads of others i cant remember now
Bringing it back to New Order, the Throwing Muses opened for New Order April 30th, 1989 at the Santa Barbara County Bowl. It was a great show and I've been unable to locate a recording of New Order's set after all these years.
