Although our info is 'not confirmed' this comes as no surprise as AB told me when I saw him after the Happy Mondays gig, that he was doing this. He didn't mention that Hooky was playing with him so that is a bonus.

If this info is correct, then that kinda sorts out the NY and Chicago after show arrangements. The Coachella event is on the Saturday night, so that's gonna be 3 nights of Hooky in succession. He's already sick of the sight of us :evil4:

Yeah, I was expecting Baker to be AT the gigs, not AFTER the gigs... hence why Kamar worked his butt out to organize an after party in Chicago.

This is the only thing that makes me sad about this...

He did say, specifically, that he'd be doing the aftershows. I thought he might appear at the gigs aswell and still do. I didn't mention the aftershow on here cos I thought that might be in relation to a private party which they wouldn't want publicising. Obviously not !.

I never expected any of the band to attend the NOOL event, they would run a mile from that type of thing but this does provide stiff competition for post gig entertainment.

Like Kamar says, hopefully folks will do both.

I never expected them to show up either, but if you had the choice, which place would you pick? :skeptic: that is my point, most people will pick the one's Hooky doing.

I know for sure I'd prefer to go to the other.. although they seems to have huge cover charges for some reason.. seriously I've never paid more than 10$ to enter a club, 25$ seems a little edgy.

I don't know what exactly Hooky and AB are spinning at these gigs, but i do know that sound-bar is the best club in the midwest and has never dissapointed me yet. That's why its $25, just a standard door cover charge for a major chicago club.

Through friends and promoters i always receive invites to RSVP with emails and names to get on the list for free admission to soundbar and the minute i see this for the nite of may 03 i will post on nool so everyone can utilize it.

days like today i'm sitting at work and thinking about may 02 and 03 every 2.5 minutes, and totally out of it, i'm so excited.....

$25 keeps the crowd to just the serious fans and clubbers...

and seems not that much considering how infrequently New Order hit America.... I mean, I wouldn't want to spend $25 every weekend to just get into some random club,

BUT, to see Hooky and Arthur Baker and New Order fanatics, $25 is nothing!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!

Sorry, it's late and I'm tired, but Spotnick, does this mean that the Soundbar is not having Hook and Baker DJing following the Chicago show?

Thanks.

yes eric, that is correct :) so drive down monday night to smart bar and tuesday night meet all of us @ neo :) honestly, smart bar is so much more intimate than soundbar, you'll have more fun there for sure. and joe shannahan is a HUGE new order fan and a good friend of hookys. it will be more special than the soundbar experience where it's all sectioned off for VIPs and yuppies who go to be noticed. oh yeah, smart bar is having a release party as well for WFTSC. its free :) Monday April 25 10pm-4am. all new order all night :)

so a quick wrap up:

April 25 release party @ smart bar (free) April 29 release party @ berlin (10pm-1am) (might be free before midnight) May 2 Peter Hook @ smart bar May 3rd New Order May 3rd Neworderonline.com after party

thats a lot of new order :) yeah it took almost a month to sell out, but mo-fo's sure like to throw new order parties out here!

Thanks Kamar. Now that I'm caffeinated it all seems so much clearer! :)

A friend and I will be at the concert and the neo afterparty. I'm hoping to swing the smartbar show, but it's up in the air. I'm subject to the dictates of my wife :( ....ah, to be young and single again. ;)
