Well i must confess to somewhat enjoying New Order and the Chemicals concert in beautiful and friendly Oakland, California.

The Chemicals put on a clever, (semi-facist?), power to the people, ear drum rupturing, excursion into post-New Order techno-pop. My girlfriend didn't appreciate but who cares, right?

Anyways, when are New Order ever gonna do a proper North American tour? A tour shirt with 4 dates? A post-modern piss-fest or a joke i don't quite grok, you decide.

I hate to slight New Order in favour of Duran Duran but please at least Duran Duran got to save the world from Godzilla.

Maybe you would prefer that they do the same number of gigs in the states that they did from 1994 to 2000...

I'll take four anyday over NONE...

But in all seriousness, I don't think we'll see the order do anyting in the states like the olden days...heck, they only did ten gigs in North America for Republic...

maybe, if we are lucky...we might get 10 gigs next time around, but I wouldn't hold my frigging breath!!!

No other country has ever had this number of tours or dates. You should have bought more records and danced more at the gigs when you had the chance!!! :evil4:

According to Hooky, their idea is to promote both albums once the new one will be released in 2006...

So maybe we'll see them next year, but this is Bernard's decision really and how long he wants to be far from home.

I believe a 6 dates "tour" would have been more proper... let's say New York, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Toronto and San Francisco... that would have pleased everybody...

I doubt they would sell more than 5000 seats anywhere else with the lack of promotion they suffer since 2001 in North America.

Nicos, I don't think there was a gig there on July 14th...

First off, the radio station that was promoting the gig in Dallas kept going on about how the Dallas gig was the first gig of the Republic tour in North America...the tickets even said it was KDGE's 10th (?) Birthday Party...thing is, the EDGE would have only been about 3 or 4 years old at the time...so I think somebody might have lied to somebody to get the first gig in Dallas...

Secondly...the Meadowlands is the name of the complex where Giants Stadium and Byrne Arena are located...so why would they have played two gigs at the same place seperated by a few weeks???

And look at the shirts from the tour...why isn't that date listed???

Blimey, I'm from England. Even I know Meadowlands and the Brendan Byrne Arena are one and the same area! Passed it driving in from Bernardsville (of all places) this Sunday just gone. The Arena has been renamed since, no? Pizda (John from Kazekhstan) did all the East Cost gigs.

8 gigs in North America, 5 in Europe. 13 in total agreed to by Barney and Hooky cos they thought there was 13 tracks on Republic. So legend has it.

at the time it was called Brendan Byrne Arena, (where the Nets and Devils Play) its right across a parking lot From Giants Stadium and it is now Continental Airlines Arena

No it didn't happen. The tour began down south. It's a bogus entry. The only Meadowlands show was August 4th.

Yeah, WaterRat stopped updating his site a couple of years back so (with his knowledge and consent) I took over making corrections on my "mirror". At some point I should just convince him to redirect to me, or if he gets the time, to fold back in the changes.

Lots of people have helped me of course. :)

Nic, you and your cohorts are more than welcome to go through and fix any errors in your live browser. Especially since I hear Dave Thompson (author of "An Armchair's Guide...") felt free to appropriate the gigography listing without any attribution...or so I've heard.
