That Kylie sample really enhances the track, I for one hope they continue to play it with the sample :thumb:

Yeah, I thought it was fun.

Best version I've ever heard live was in Oakland, WITH the Kylie samples.

That being said, I wish BM would go away- just once- preferrably while I am in the crowd.... Sick of it.

Is there a New Order fan who ranks Blue Monday at the top of his top 5?

In 5 years, I have yet to see this...

Not in my top 5 but in the last few years it has grown on me again, after not listening to to for almost 10 years. I think that it has its place live, as it keeps the party going, and everybody knows it.

i dont know anyone who could possibly want to hear that fucking track again, they seem to think because it was the biggest hit that everyone must want to listen to it ad nauseum, well i for one dont - give me age of consent or something they never bloody play. blue monday is usually the cue to start heading out of the crowd and make your way home.STOP PLAYING IT PLEASE.

That reminds me of that moment on Elecrtonc Ecstasy (their last concert in 1993), where someone must have said something quite harsh about Blue Monday, and Barney defends it, "but is our biggest hit".

didnt like it when it came out but it has sort of grown on me over the years, lets face it,its been released more times than a compulsive shoplifter so its bound to grind you down in the end. not in my top 40 though.

I do like the song, but would never put it in a personal favourites setlist. There are always songs I would rather hear ahead of it, and it wouldn't be in a favoured 90 minutes of songs.

I really wasn't looking forward to hearing it at Hammerstein but I am glad they played it. I hadn't heard it in a long time and I forgot that it was a good song. Not in my top 10 but I do like the song.

Mike with a semi-favourable BM thread

I agree that the Kylie sample adds to the track.

Also, BM is definitely in my top five. I think it's an incredible track, although I understand why many of you are sick of it.

Not in my top 5. Actually hate to hear it. Though it rocked when I saw it at the Hammerstein show. The Viking hammering on those electo drum thingies was priceless.

The Kylie "Can't get Blue Monday out of my head" track was used in the recently released film "Layer Cake". Good film. The boys were given props in the closing credits. But this has probably been mentioned already.
