Come on, somebody give me a good reason why New Order arent playing Manchester, their Home Town this year. I need my New Order live fix. I know NO are playing various festivals this year, but I just dont like festivals anymore, been there done that. Suppose i'll just have to settle with Oasis at Citys ground this summer, good support though from the Doves.

Your disgruntled? They haven't been back to Brum since 1989 after playing some stonking gigs here 1983/1986, last JD gig etc... Having said that I have travelled to see them in doors but won't for festivals.

Nice intimate venue that it is, not like a festival at all. Is there a problem about going to gigs beyond the M60?
We'd all rather see them in small venues but the simple fact is you know where they're playing, get off your backside and go or stop whining.
Im sure, i am coming down after work from North-East seeing gig then train back up North. And im billy no-mates for the day. Will they ever play Newcastle or Leeds again? NO. Who cares. Whe fact is they are still gigging. If you need your Order fix you have to go

Yeah, some of us dont have the income to attend gigs in London. And anyway ive never been to a good gig in London yet, terrible atmosphere, the southerners dont know how to have a good time.

Have to concur with Al, whingeing fucking northerners! As far as the Order goes been better for me in London than Manchester by a long long way. There's a certain expectation at a manchester gig that never quite seems to pay off, then again London did give us that bloody wembley fiasco. personally, nowhere quite like Sheffield.

i've been unemployed since march & i just saw them in barcelona so don't give me that

No money but your Oasis ticket was how much? Face it, you just can't be arsed to travel, that's OK, your choice - just stop whining.
Gigs in London, or even just southern gigs have you ever done any? Don't know how you define a good time but Brixton 87 rates high in the best gigs New Order have done both in performance and crowd. MEN arena on the other hand was a half filled cavern with comparatively little atmosphere, thankyou Manchester.

Nope they definately weren't supporting the Order at the Uni or the Roxy.Two gigs that surpassed any manc gig I've been to.
Mr Gary Hare, My first & best ever Order gig was in Fins Park tent 18yrs ago this summer with ACR supporting. Me a 17yr old student going to London ALONE from the North-East 3 days b4 an A-Level exam. I personally dont think i've beaten the atmosphere there YET. Make it last while you can mate, sell your Oasis txt & head to H.Park pronto!
Ive every right to moan. Twenty two years ive been a fan of New Order, and they cant be bothered to play their home town. Im also speaking on behalf of my mates, who all think the same as me. Its like the Human League not playing Sheffield, or Chas and Dave not playing London.
You have a right to moan but don't expect sympathy on here. Is it written in stone that a band must play it's hometown, certainly awhile since New Order played macclesfield or salford. There was a lot of whingeing on here from a handful of yanks about the US dates but a hell of a lot of them travelled considerably larger distances to get to see the band than Manchester to London. This is without taking into consideration the Vikings who have been at every gig so far this year and with the exception of Japan and possibly the scanadanavian festival will have representatives at all the remaining shows. I really don't see how Hyde Park can be that expensive an outing no-one's demanding you do every date.

I get where yer coming from, but that's like being an armchair fan, I'll travel anywhere to see them, it's like football, I've seen Celtic in 6 countries. I've only done the 11 neworder gigs since my first one in 89, but I'll travel anywhere for me fix, I'll be paying Barca off for another month or two yet, but I still cannae wait for Hyde Park!
