Vikings or Norsemen come from the Scandinavian countries of Danmark, Norway and Sweden. They settled in Icleand and Greenland, and even reached the North American continent. In the early middle ages they did indeed do much rapinig and pillaging in europe, in the process laying the foundations for the first Russian state, and conquering Normandy in northern France, from whence they would later incvade England

I hope this helps.

I aspire to become a Viking. I have the badge, kindly bestowed upon me by Al at the Audley. I must now earn the right to wear it!

In doing so I would need to cast aside my marriage of some twelve summers, to throw in my piecemeal occupation and extort a goodly few pounds sterling from my long-suffering bank. I must also learn to drink large quantities of fine Jameson's Irish whiskey in-between pints of ale.

I know these truths to be self-evident...

Was hoping to have been made an honourary VIKING but alas it was not to be, dr  is well . Thought that my dazzling repartee and my holy physician like northern nuttiness would just have done it alone, but hey life is shit when you live oop north and hand out prescriptions to asylum seekers and junkies all day.

Thought that my attendance in the st johns ambulance tent (with my colleagues) at hyde park would have done it too,(hey surely thats what vikings do).

To mr jarvis, make Dr  an honorary viking,or the next time you go to the doctors you are in trouble!

I reckon any Vikings who didn't twat the Coldshiteplay fans out of the way at Glasto should have their membership revoked. :\ohwell:

"I don't know why they are called the Vikings they should be known as the Hooligans" - Barney, France 2005.

I'm blonde, I'm from Manc land, I've been a fan for 20 years, I've been known to consume large quantities of beer on occassion, but I wouldn't say i'm a Viking... so don't stress if you ain't one (I don't watch Premier League either - maybe theres a correlation there)!

I have noted the majority (not all) of the "Vikings" only became Order fans in the late eighties. Why is this?.Don`t recall seeing any of yous at Birmingham Tower Ballroom Oct 86 climbing the plastic palm trees.

What were you all into when Low Life came out?.Dire fuckin Straits?:evil4:

(a Viking hits back with "don`t recall you getting the setlist and backstage access at the gig on Pluto that took 3 weeks to get to via the Fuji festival")

Anyways, i`m off on me annual holiday to Brazil with the firm to meet some of them Rio girls again (no, NOT the ladyboys before you say it).See ya!.

Down the front you c***, that's where!

Well actually no, I was swinging from the plastic palm trees, as I had done in 1983 and 1985 as well. Didn't see you there......

In 1985 I was 10, so Rod Stewart & Bob Dylan were my favourites thanks to my ma and pa. It would be another couple of years before my Uncle John finally knocked some proper sense into me, mainly thanks to Temptation on Substance. If I was as old as some of you cunts on here I'd have a lot more than 13 gigs to ma name......and probably liver failure :spit:

Enjoy Brasil me ole fruitcake - and I will make no cheap jokes about the LB's - you've probably learned yer lesson after the last trip ;)

I'm an ancient bastard, and a veteran of 30 something gigs... Al J. was kind enough to hand me and the Mrs a pin badge each - it was her 2nd gig and she loved every minute...

I presume 'The Vikings' can be labelled as the NO 'hardore' from anywhere in the globe - as long as they regularly attend gigs, get-togethers, etc.

Speaking of such, the girly is off to Reading at the end of the month, so I'm free to see 'Digital' and go for a few beers if the arrangement is still on.

Cheers all

Don't think it's the majority at all. Most of us are 37-40'ish so been New Order since the day dot. You can't mither the likes of Shug just cos he's a young 'un. Nice to see the Yoof element made it through, and soooperb to see the likes of Conor and Liam maintaining the vanguard.

Anyways, I saw New Order a few times in 86 and believe me, Brum wasn't on me agenda. It's a shitehole, dontcha know. Credit this boy with some class, please! :thumb:

Uncle Liam wrote: Why cant i see half of this page?

It's because James was supposed to write his line "Chris wrote that????" right behind "quote in the brackets" but obviously he didn't do so. Not only he screwed this page  but he also made it look like "Chris wrote that????" was something Al said which isn't true. It would be for the best if he edited his post or perhaps Tim should do that for him!

i think the vikings are the followers of nu ordr from the early 80's i went to the g-mex gig in manchester in 1988 and the opening coming on stage music besides alan wise's comments was the theme tune from the film the vikings.i think it is all down to mr hook? does this help?
