LWTUA has been given a new lease of life this time around, really impressed by it. Transmission and Atmosphere CAN be done quite well. SLC they should leave the fook alone.

Yeah. I was impressed with the Jools Holland show when they done Transmission. SLC doesnt suit them at all now. I even think if Joy Division still existed and were doing a comeback tour right now, they couldnt pull it off. It`s a song to be performed by angry young men.

Probably transmission by sheer elimination.

Atmosphere. Bernard should, by law, be prohibited to sing this song. And as for the bloody whooping...

Love Will Tear Us Apart. Dont really like it anyway. Sounds quite lame live, apart from the intro, when they dont mess it up.

She's lost control. Nothing really against it, but it just doesnt sound right live these days. its my 2nd fafe JD song after transmission but Bernards vocal dont suit it at all.

Isolation from the '98 session. Fit New Order perfectly. they really should play that instead of SLC.

Heart & Soul as well.

The best was "Love will tear us apart" ,performed at the "Tower ballroom", Birmingham UK 1985/86.I was standing behind the mixing desk just as the band first appeared and the late, great"Rob Gretton" was mixing the sound that night.New Order dedicated the song to him on his "birthday" and as far as i know it was the first time the band had played a "Joy Division" song in public. The Tower Ballroom is to close for good this new year (please) play there one more time(because the NEC is a vile S**thole sound wise) and could you bring "Interpol" as the support act.As Brum has had the pleasure of James,The Wonder Suff,Happy Mondays, supporting the "mighty new order in the past".

spot on Beach Boy, they also played it during the '98 shows and they should have brought it back into the set.

Favourite performance of a JD song must be Decades at Royal Festival Hall and Amsterdam Paradiso both May 84. Sends shivers down my spine!

I think he sings Heart & Soul quite well. Always been a fave of mine. Atmosphere works well, even though he whoops it up. :evil4:

i agree with isolation. the '98 manchester apollo rendition surpasses any of the above!

Transmission... but i really like Digital from Finsbury Park. Day in, day out :music:

LWTUA at Coachella was the best version I can recall ever hearing.

I really like Transmission these days...

Atmosphere is a little risky, as it usually turns into whoops and grunts.

I voted for Transmission too, but Isolation & Digital should be played more - I love the 'InSession' version of Isolation.

I think I forgot to say "current JD songs on the current tour"... those pre-2005 doesn't count... :nono:

I agree with Mike although I voted for Transmission cause it makes you jump up and down, but not in a way Digital from Finsbury does. Don't know I'm quite bored with JD songs cause they always play those 4 songs. I noticed people went so wild and happy when they started playing LWTUA. I'm probably the only person here who thinks JD songs are for home listening only. Don't get me wrong, I really like JD, but New Order playing the same 4 songs over and over again, well it just does nothing for me. Maybe that's an answer for the next tour, maybe they'll stop playing JD songs in order to play some new stuff. Who knows!

On days when Barney can keep a clean whoop-sheet, Atmosphere wins for me. It's the only song that I feel this way about - he can scream his lungs out on the rest of them!

Atmosphere - Reading 98.

Whne the shimmering noise appeared in the song it sent shivers down ma spine and the hairs on ma neck stood up, a highly emotional moment and played to as near to perfection as it ever has.

My first thought, too.

But because it's missing in the choice it has to be LWTUA. Don't ask me why... It's always a great performance.

I agree, they're outstanding.

But out of these four I have to pick "Transmission", good that they added the synth drone to it this time too.

1983 - it was fucking awful. Gillian murdered it!

Transmission by a million miles. It is the only one they don't crucify. Decades was good back in the day, and Heart and Soul was ok in 1998.

If we are sticking to 2005 tour dates,I really enjoyed Atmosphere at Hyde Park with my cousin, at her first New Order gig, on my shoulders loving it too..Interestingly,she had been talking to Peter Saville in her job(She works in the promotion of the City of Manchester)earlier that same day..but said "I don't like him,he looked down on me." ond you will never meet a nicer lass than our Angela
