I think that quite a few people from here are going. Depending on whether there are tickets still available, I might well be tagging along as well :)
They're also playing at the Big Chill Festival the weekend before (which I shall be at), so will definitely catch them there too.
Yep, think there's a big turnout from here. They're also playing Mancland, I believe, on Saturday 13th and I'm gonna be in the area, so to speak, but at a wedding, alas.

Deffo doing the manchester gig. Its at heaton mersey bowl. Wherever that is. Part of the moorland festival. Cant wait as its two days before my birthday!

I do remember, but it's not on the cards now as the Mrs ain't attending said wedding with me in Mancland anymore and it's her motor! So I'm training it up instead!
Cool, Im glad theres a few people from here going as I didnt really mingle at the Audley. I was slightly concerned about the gradual disintegration of my trainers until my mates girlfriend turned up with a tube of superglue. They didnt last down the front though, a fifteen year old pair of Puma Californias, I was gutted.

I think that was the last (and possibly only!?!) time I have seen them in the flesh but Old Blue has sorted tickets for Cargo so I'll be there.

Any chance that ACR would be playing any dates in the U.S? I went to their website ,but there was no mention of any dates in North America.
Will be there although couldn't seem to get an advance ticket. I hope it will be alright to pay on the door.
No-one has answered as to whether they still do the old stuff. This will be my second time for ACR - the first was when they supported NO at Hammersmith Palais in 1985. It would be great if they still did stuff from the first album.

They still do the old stuff, they haven't got any 'new' stuff as such, only one new track called, I think, 'Starlight'. You could try and search back through the forums here but few of us have done their recent gigs since NOOL was started and I think there's some setlists listed somewhere. You'll get Flight, Do The Du, Shack Up, Wild Party Good Together and WSLY. All the faves and more!
Lunatic Fringe - You will also get Do the Do, Won't stop loving you, Si Firmi o Grido (to finish with) (probs), Wanabee, Choir (maybee) etc..
Should be good, im off to Newcastle gig in Oct' as only 250 capacity & Moscrop is DJing. Ciao

Got my tix for the Newcastle gig too. I'm looking forward to it, should be a good one :)
As far as Im concerned, ACR died right about the time Simon Topping left. He was the talent behind the band and after his departure they became just, well, weird. Theyre later material is virtually unlistenable, but "Shack Up" is great and "Crippled Child" still sends shivers down my spine, even if it sounds so much like Ian Curtis its unreal.

D'you think? Granted, something like Flight is a classic, but I thought their best period was definitely POST Topping.
The likes of Wild Party, Sounds Like Something Dirty and Force (the album) are their finest points. Less of the jazz and more of the funk. And, much later, the likes of Good Together and Won't Stop Loving You should really have garnered the band some much needed commercial success.

Fair opinion- but Wrong -whats Topping done since 85' nowt apart from T-coy, Prospect park..
Carn't believe how anyone doesn't like 'Good Together' era, Force album or anything off Rob Records.
To call ACR wierd after Topping left is COMPLETE BOLLOCKS MATE
