I was just listening to Species' quality recording of Arvikafestivalen (from Dime: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=54629 ) and noticed a synth line from "TPK" appearing in "Blue Monday" from 5.50 onwards. Not having heard all the bootlegs from this year, I'd like to ask the hardcores has the band added it into the other versions of "BM" this year too, or not?
TPK in Blue Monday?

It's been in Blue Monday since about 1984. It seems that one of the sequences used in TPK was the same as in Blue Monday, and originally I thought that Gillian had pressed a wrong key (there is some precedent, after all). Then I started to notice it quite a lot, and we can't really blame her these days, can we?!

As OldMonkey stated, there have always been similarities. However, the performance you're referring to absolutely contains the synth melody line from The Perfect Kiss in all it's glory. Perhaps it's a sign that TPK will return to their set next year.
Would someone be willing to email me an MP3 of this version of BM? Id love to hear it, but for some reason I cant get the torrent to play on my computer....

Just watched the Apollo webcast 2005 dvd. I almost cried when Barney went over to the keyboards and played the synth line of TPK during Blue Monday. It is the "I know you know" bit.
I was there and I DID cry I may even have choked out a bit of hooky's bassline.
And another thing....you see how much louder it is than everything else on the webcast....it WAS that much louder in the place....and the level was already excellently lethal.
Richard Lyons wants fucking whipping if you ask me (just for this, not his hard work and so on). if it had be ME on those controls, I'd have pulled BM's bassline and arpreggiator out, stuck the fucker into loop and let Steve, Hooky and Barney have a jam (I'm sure phil could have found something useful to do as well), sadly, they've not improvised a note since they went to AOL-Time-Warner.
Not entirely sure whether it is fair to whip Richard Lyons. Not when it is Roger Lyons who is the man at the helm on the programming!

After Barney plays the synth line a few times, you can see me jumping up and down frantically on the far right of the screen, in front of Hooky.
I'm surprised you weren't levitating on the sheer sound pressure.
that's you with the BarneyFinger thing happening then?
