peter hook--orlando, oct. 8 meet-up

i've already heard from a few NOOLers who want to meet up for drinks before heading over to the social. anyone have any suggestions about location, times, etc. for a pre-hooky round or two?

Isn't I-Bar right down the street from The Social?

I'm not THAT familiar with Orlando but I'll do my best to show up wherever.

the I-bar is on orange ave. near that horrible club, tabu. they're probably in close proximity.

i just like the Social for its photobooth, a real one not one of those sorry ass computer printout ones! i'll come in from tampa w/ at least one friend. we must represent the VJ/DJ community from here!

wonder if i should bring the ol' silver sharpie to get something signed....hmmm

jesus, am i the space cadet. i went to the I-bar for about 5 months straight every saturday and never noticed the social. well, probably did but didn't know its name.

any bar suggestions? i'll try and think of a few.

one idea: scruffy murphy's on the corner of washington and orange avenue. they have 22 beers on tap :); it's rather small, but if we're hitting it early enough we should be ok since there may not be a lot of us anyway!

other ideas? the I-bar doesn't open until 9:30, and the set is at 10.

yay less than 2 weeks away... kinda miffed i can't hit Otown for the Decemberists/Sons & Daughters show tonight. but i have to save myself for Hooky and Death From Above next month.

new plan: meeting up at kate o'brien's at 42 w. central blvd. a bit bigger and a bit nicer. for those coming from outside o-town, it's still very close to the social.

8:30 or thereabouts? maybe earlier? who's up for it?

should be doable for me.. trying to get a full car load going over there in the mean time!

It'll be me and my fiance. Don't know what time we'll get there since she has school that day.

arrival time for us will be dictated by how much money we drop at virgin megastore on the way into orlando. i know it's big and corporate, but they actually carry cd singles (even the indie stores here in tampa have scrapped them) and get some goofy vinyl in from time to time.

ok. 8:30 it is, at kate o'brien's on w. central blvd. they have their own website so you can look up directions. i should be recognizable from my pictures on this site; otherwise just start singing a NO song or something if you can't find anyone from our group.

ok guys i'll be at the show. not sure about kate's unless we get done shopping at virgin semi quickly. the social is small and i'm 6'8 so if anyone wants to say high please do so. ill be trying to molest my date in the photobooth at some point for sure
