I was at this show, but I cannot recall the opening band. Does anyone recall, or can someone refer me to a gigography that would have the answer?

Part of me wants to say A Certain Ratio, but I don't recall because, if it was them, they only did current stuff which I was not familiar with. I only really knew their earlier stuff with Simon Topping.

Thanks, Ed

ACR.

From memory, the NME reviewed both acts at this gig, I think? Or maybe some of the Felt Forum set is used on 'Live In America'?

Might be wrong Jarvo - but 'ACR Live in America' was taken off Orders summer 85' tour support slot. Im 99% sure they didn't do too much gig wise in 86' after G-mex show. I've got them up Newcastle this Sat- should be canny gig

Yeah, you're right Felt Forum 85 was ACR support. Didn't realise they'd (New Order) played there in 86 as well.

ACR certainly did a few dates at end of 86 cos I'd just started Uni and saw them in Colchester and Cambridge in my first term, am sure of that. Don't think it could've been any later, just remember those dates by the girl I was seeing.

Quite scary that Jez Kerr still dresses like that, 20 years on, and looks a lot better than we could ever hope to!

Been racking my brains on this one for a couple of days, and I can't remember the answer! I'm not sure they had one support act with them on the entire tour, I think it was more a case of having certain US bands for certain regions. The first two dates, on the West Coast, were supported by The Fall. I've got an interview with Terry Mason from the very start of that tour, I'll have a listen later to see if he mentions anything about support, which he may well have done as crew manager.
