How much irony in that?? Everybody'd thought it would be another Blue-Monday boring 20-minute set...
Warsaw!? Bloody hell! I don't think I've ever heard it. Nice to see they played Shadowplay as well. Wouldn't it be great if they did a separate Joy Division set and a New Order set at one of their gigs.
Class - you lucky bar stewards - Shadowplay & Warsaw. Well Done. Some dues paid back to the faithful for a change.

The opening notes of Transmission and the front rows of the Upper Stalls spilled into the area in front of Row AA. Great view and room to dance :)
Half the Lower Stalls spilled into a non existant space between the stage and Row A :)
Many a NOOLer could be seen causing the two security blokes a bit of a problem 
Typical; a nice respectable Orchestral venue and the New Order crowd turn it into a mosh pit 
Barney had a nightmare with his guitars not working and getting smacked in the mouth a few times by his mic stand when people nearly knocked it over, but he seemed to be loving it.

Well I know many,if not all, will disagree with me but if you weren't down the front, it wasn't worth being there. No one from Row G back moved. At all. Bar Vinny at my shoulder. Occasionally. I was extremely disappointed despite an all Joy Division set. I could see quite a few people from NOOL enjoying themselves but in my opinion it was a waste of time. No one stirred at all in the upper stalls and I should have saved my money. I wasn't moved at all. New Order are not all they are cracked up to be when you are halfway away from the front of the stage. No matter what anyone says. Way too conservative a venue. I wonder what Peely would have thought of it all. Probably chuffed that these bands would do this in his honour. But possibly wished they had done something better somewhere else.
However it was good to meet up with some of the NOOLs beforehand.
Just listened to it all again from the voice recorder on my mobile, but I'm sure someone has got a better effort than that :)
shadowplay--one of the songs i thought NO should put in their 'joy division' repertoire. excellent!

Well, considering that the QEH was where a lot of Peely related gigs were, you never know? :)

Wow, that's three different threads you've pasted this into now.
Sounds like quite a night. Can't wait to hear more feedback from Vikings, NOOLers and other boozehounds.

Half an hour of New Order heaven. The whisper going round the pub before hand was Decades. Barney's announcement that it was going to be JD only had us thinking Atmosphere, LWTUA, Transmission, SLC. Maybe Digital. Wouldn't have given you any money on the two surprises.
