Last time I was in Revolution was back in 2002 I think (was it not long opened?) probably the day before the Move Festival, twas very clean and rather posh for my usual tastes :D, and fcuk me did I have heartburn after 2 or 3 of them voddies - cannae remember what they were called but the spearminty one was the dogs bollocks!
Viva La Revolution, but not for me this time, we probably won't be getting to Manc till about 4ish - so it'll be straight to the pub where everyone else is

Saw 'post no #1' and got all cynical.
Good work fella, but Revolution sucks, every time I've been there it's like standing in a queue for an X-Factor audition.

Fair enuff mate, no problems. I was having trouble logging on and had to re-register yesterday hence post no.1.
I know the guys who run Revolution and they were thinking of turning the whole of downstairs at deansgate Locks into a New order zone for the day.
I'll try and get them to put on a happy hour too!
Being an old fart as I am these days the pev and BP are more for me I just thought the Revolution option may be an easy place to meet, loads of room, and a venue that will be sympathetic to our cause

I think I'm more or less incapable of fighting nowadays, even if I am a grumpy old man. The spirit is willing but the flesh is not only weak, it's fat, flabby and feels like it's starting to fall off! 
I'm thinking Deansgate Locks....on a Monday night .......... it won't take many of us to turn it into a NO zone!
I'm willing to give Revolution a try, not been for a while. BP first to line the stomach with real ale, then onto the voddies....sounds like a good pre-gig diet to me! 
Anyway, suffice to say I have now voted, and am sure wherever it is, it will be a good un! Please ignore my new thread....

I'll be there at around the same time - but I booked a hotel within '10 minutes walk away' and I have definitely got to book in first - and will not in anyway be distracted! But I'm relying on a taxi driver from there on in!

you lot are a bunch of jammy dodgers, getting tickets for NO and the like. and now i see you all planning festivities which involve alcohol.
Well, go to the foot of our stairs.
I'm doing my best on joining you lot at some stage, just gotta get mesen a ticket now. Girlfriend didn't wanna come see NO - thus no ticket. By the time I'd talked a mate o mine round into coming, all tickets had 'officially' sold out etc.
NOOL was only thing i could think of to get me mits on a ticket or 2, and wahay, it looks like it could be a go-er after all.

Assuming I make it, and that is by no means certain, I think a primary consideration is that the venue is well known among cabbies and the like, so that if it very far from rail/air/bus arrivals, it's at least just a matter of finding a taxi and saying "take me to the vikings".
Somewhere that does pub grub would be good, as I'll have either starved all the way from Belfast or been robbed on the HSS(even the F*ing Macballbollockburgers are more expensive) or gouged at westmorland services (£1.70 for a sausage roll that was in fact a slither of green snot inside some crusty scabs).
Oh and be advised that I WILL be bringing Bank of Ireland and Northern Bank notes and fighting with bar staff over their legality....at least my man Cuana will be on hand to show that there is no such thing as an Irish fucking pound. I would have thought that the picture of Liz and the word Sterling would be a giveaway to even the world's biggest tard, but apparently not.

I'll need guidance myself. I have no sense of direction in Manchester. Don't know what time I'll be arriving yet as I'm working in the morning.
i can help any of the non-locals around manchester if you like, I may take the day off work so I'll have time on my hands. I live 3 miles outside the city centre.

I managed to get the afternoon off and am gonna get the train over. Looking forward to what should be a good afternoon but will have to be a bit more reserved than the Audley or i wont make it in on Tuesday..Or probably fucking Wednesday for that matter!!

Cheers Grant. The trains are every 30 minutes and take about 50, so im gonna aim to get to manc for about 3ish. But might be a bit later depending on work. Can you post some brief directions or which bus to get and i`ll stumble on over when i get there

Guys, grab a fast black from wherever you land - JB is well under five quid from Oxford Rd or Picadilly, a cabbie at Chorlton St bus station will probably just just laugh and give you directions it's so close.

U know I was thinking, if the gig kicked out about 2200 I could be on a bus home at 2245:)...but I suspect it'll be 2300 boot-out.

Loving longtime the deansgate locks idea! Well handy for us boys from warrington as we are straight off the train from spectrum arena.....(birchwood station actually, but its next to the arena).
