Driving over after work and then back after so it'll probably be the curry mile followed by a couple in the Apsley Cottage I'm afraid.
A Saturday night in December somewhere reasonably accessible sounds far better for a NOOL piss up.
Two more for the 10th I think.
Whichever is nearest to the airport - or failing that, within staggering distance of the gig! 
difficult choice, as I'm gonig to be in Uni that day I'm inclined to vote for Joshua Brookes, but having said that its not really my favourite place to go.
Whats that place called opposite taxi rank at picadilly. I walked past it every day for a year, and can never remember its name.

i am staying 100 yards from old monkey pub so would of course be easy for me
however i'd go for moon over water for the cheap drinks
the thing is,would there be different meet up places for early people and later people?

You mean The Bulls Head or Monroe's? Never been to the Bulls Head but Monroe's is a good pub. Unless you were talking about the Star and Garter!

It's ALWAYS an open invite, the more the merrier.
It's gonna have to be a big place cos there's bound to be quite a few out and about for this. I am happy as long as there is beer and plenty of it.
A government health warning should be announced before we all meet, cos not only is Rocket Mick gonna be in attendance....but Garymac as well!

You don't drink, right, mate? I'd just like to apologise in advance for my inevitable total inebriation - please try and get there early so I'll be (almost) worth talking to. And as for the venue - no bar hopping, please. It'll just make things more complicated, so can we just stay in one single (roomy) place? Plus, it's fucking Manchester so it will be fucking raining and who'll want to jump from pub to pub in the pissing bastard Manc gloom?
We're going up on Sunday. Staying Sunday night, Monday (obviously) and then going home Tuesday midday.
We're happy to meet wherever seems best - preferably a place that sells proper ales, rather than a load of creamflow crap, Tetley, Boddingtons, John Smiths, etc.
Best place to meet would be somewhere within reasonably easy staggering distance from the Apollo - after all, that's where we're all going to be headed...
So - a few suggestions of near-Apollo watering holes?
The Wetherspoons in Piccadily is quite big,nowhere near the size of Moon Over The Water,but you'll get served quicker! And it's handy for getting to Apollo from there.

How about a 'nice' place where we can enjoy beer, be vaguely rowdy, but comical and then disappear to a great gig, all chums together?

Agree absolutely - my vague point was that whenever we all meet up there's so many of us that it becomes NOOL central regardless of the usual clientele. I don't know who usually drinks in the Audley, but before Hyde Park it was unquestionably "our" pub. And it was fucking great....

Martin - there's enough of us now to do that to any pub! Would be good to go somewhere where fat bastards like me can enjoy a few 'real ales' !!!

Chris, you want the Lass O'Gowrie for 'proper' beer. It's on the right side of town for the Apollo and shouldn't be too far from any of the other meeting places should you decide to slip off for a real pint.
its not like there will be many other people out anyway on a monday. isnt the bulls head a regular stop off point for people walking up to the apollo ?
