... I`ll start the ball rolling with Harlem, it does after all belong to Arthur Baker and surely a contender for some sort of after gig shenanigans.
Brixton meet up...

Good call. Is it suitable for a rowdy bunch of NOOLers pre-gig though?! I'd have thought somewhere like the Canterbury would be more used to coping with a crowd.
Er, and Shug might finally be able to knick the tricolour Scream mask from above their door. ![]()
Its pretty big and open, cant see too many people being in there on a thursday afternoon. I usually go to the Prince Albert pre Academy but judging from the numbers at the Audley and the Mulberry Bush wed fill it twice over. Wheres the Canterbury? I thought I knew my Brixton boozers
Cantebury Arms. Was that where we went before Interpol, Al? If so, there - the beer was cheap I seem to remember.
It's gotta be The Canterbury Arms, tis the regular meet up point for the Order massive ![]()
Al - that scream mask is mine, 3rd (or is it 4th?) time lucky :D
It will be a late appearance for us though :(

Can't remember why though?!?!?!
They were the days. At least you made it home in one piece :D

On POPE'S Road. The only reason I remember this is cos ma cousin Eddie got his picture taken next to the sign before the Mondays gig in March :D
It's about 200 yards away from the venue.
As long as it sells ale and we can all still find our way to the venue, I don't mind!
Canterbury Arms sounds good to me.
this manc is stoppin over this time..
I just want some action, give me satisfaction, morning night and day....
My last time at Brixton was 1991? for an all nighter when the Happys were playin. Missed the Happys, couldnt score any proper drugs.
I'll never make that mistake again.
EDIT: oops, just remembered it was 808 State............that I still fookin missed
Bugger.
My wife starts a new job on Weds and is working a long day on Thurs; so I couldn't get there until 10.30p.m. as someone has to look after the sprog until she gets back...
Racking my brains trying to think of someone who can do the childcare but our babysitter vouchers are all used up...
Doesn't look like a go-er for me unless I devise some cunning plan in the next few hours...

I know the place, cool, see you all there. I`ll try and be a bit more sociable this time, only really spoke to Ness and Al at the Mulberry and then my mates turned up.
Hi, please forgive the blatantly newby query but I'd be grateful if someone could put an address/postcode for the Canterbury Arms so that I might have the chance to meet up with some experiences aficionado’s pre-gig.
Your most humble acquaintance, etc Cheers for now

Canterbury Arms is on Canterbury Crescent. >> HERE <<
Nicely twisted there Al, which is also a good description of my state in the Mulberry Bush. Im retracting my initial recommendation of Harlem, it gets a right slating on websites reviewing pubs in London, everything from incompetent bar staff to half hour waits to get served. And Ive got to admit, for anyone who remembers it as the Prince of Wales, they`ll see that minimal effort has been made to tart the place up. Arthur Baker must be a bit skint or something.
The Canterbury it is. I'll be there for about 6.30 to 7-ish I guess, as I've got to work to pay for all these poxy tickets.
I will be bringing a spare ticket for the Manc gig if anybody wants to ply me with booze and buy it off me at face value.
.....someone once told me in an establishment nearby that the Canterbury sometimes do........sniff.. "afters"......... just in case we get thirsty after the gig.........
..shhhhhhhhh.......
:bag:
Just reliased that I will need somewhere to stay in teh Smoke.
Any decent hotels etc in the area?
Just got my ticket today. Thought Standing would have been sold out by now!
Still a bit worried because ticketmaster had a problem on their page regarding NewOrder. The ticket agent had to phone them. They had to correct their site and I have just got a reciept. The ticket is gonna be sent out to me which is a 1st for cash payment.

Don't go to the Days Inn; you might find a curry stain on the carpet!
HEY!...
can i come?
My mates kinda gave up on their tenuous peer pressured link to going to NO concerts after Jetstream, and I've purchased a ticket on my own for the first time, just cos i need a fix of seeking Barney dance like a monkey. My doctor says this isn't normal for a male heterosexual thirty-something, but wtf do doctors know?
Are the Vikings still existent?.. I remember abusing Diamanda Galas and Courtney Walsh with them at the 'Big World Cafe' performance in about 1990.. I got a small cheer for pinching Mariella Frostrup's arse, if i recall.

Mate - that last paragraph (plus your avatar!) makes you a legend in my book. Say hello in pub pre-gig!!
Gonna make it to the boozer this time. Met some of you loonatics at the Audley before the Wireless gig, but couldnt make it to the pub before the Peel gig.
So see you at the Canterbury!
There are loads of tickets going on Ebay. I picked up a pair for just £41. They were advertised by some tawt who clearly didnt know anything about NO. But even so, most tickets will be under £60 for the pair.
Get'em there!
This is clearly just for the NOT SOLD OUT YET Brixton gig, the Manc gig is going for around £80 per pair.
In an attempt to raise the average height of the gathering, it looks like Marko and myself will be joining the Viking hordes for pre-gig refreshments in the Cantab.
Had a quick beer in The Canterbury Arms on Friday. All pub signs gone outside, being re-done apparently but it is open.
C U there on 10th.
Mike
I had a beer in the Canterbury last night and had the priviledge of watching a pimp taking money off one of his girls and then leading her out of the pub quite roughly by the arm....still they sell beer, see you all next week
