I will be flying from Sao Paulo to London (9,482 km) and then I will catch a train to Manchester (296 km). That's 9,778 km or 6,078 miles away. Beat that!
I already got my prize: the ticket for the UK Music Hall of Fame. Also, the Vikings are going to pay me beer, as usual. :beer3: :beer2:
I shall be travelling from deepest Kent, which is as far removed from civilisation as it is possible to get. Brazilians don't know how lucky they are compared to Medway!

I was more impressed when Ricardo came over for BSP and Durutti Column. Not nearly as impressive as that girl who came from america solely for DC!
And i shall be travelling from the caves of romiley. A full 23 mins on the train and then 10 minute walk to the apollo. That is of course, assuming i dont go to the pub. But thats not very likely is it?

I was just about to say that I'm travelling from London to Manchester.
Only, what, 200 miles or so. But I might as well be travelling back 300 years in time!

yes, but several millenia up the evolutionary ladder.
Wasn't fuckin London that invented everything :)
Steve Campbell, President of the "cut out round the M25 with a jigsaw, pitch the slag into the sea and turn the crater into the London Lake" Foundation. Stock it up with Carp and Tench for the people of the outside-the-orbital-ring-of-stupidity bits of the home counties to enjoy.
2 years in the passport office call centre convinced me they put mercury in the water in that town.

You not been to Manchester before then, Steve?! ![]()
coupla brief visits to the lovely chorlton street bus depot. Spent a week in London once...ONCE!
I think it's the way Londoners get snotty on the phone, northerners do too, but if you tell them to fuck off they take it with good grace, and don;t want to start talking to supervisors and stuff (good job, I AM the fookin supervisor ) :)
I handled Leeds pretty well, so i reckon Manc will be ok. Although being from where i am, I'll SO be cousin country cowfreak.

Been to Stoke too, I rather liked it, even though that's a somewhat unqique point of view. It actually reminded me of Bangor, only with factories (albeit mainlu closed). Did a week on a narrowboat on the 4 counties ring (we visisted stoke by train or bus, on our way to alton towers), best holiday I ever had. always wanted to go and do it again but with mates instead of parent....just 5 people, some calm water and some weed. Come to think of it, I liked everywhere we went on the canal, possibly my brain was warped into permenant joy by all the water (I'm like the flamin man from atlantis, I freak out if I'm too far from water....in chicago I had to make sure I see the lake or (green dyed!) river at least once a day cos the thought of being so far from an ocean was too much to deal with).
London is too much for my bumpkin ass like. I can't handle Belfast on a saturday. I shat myself all the way to the US, and when I got there was gobsmacked that downtown chicago at 1pm was like Belfast at 8pm, not busy at all. the things I DID like about London were, predictably enough, Kew Gardens, hyde park, the river and the underground...I really liked the underground. I like heathrow too, but it's only cos I come from a strictly pale blues only part of the world[1], and it's so interesting to see every shape and shade of the human race just wanderin by doing their thing.
[1] not entirely tre, NI has quite an asian population, mainly Chinese and Korean, but it's really thin on peeps of african origin....too fucking cold probably no matter how many generations ago their forebears were taken from home.
BIGINOIL and Dr Clayhead do you both still LIVE in Aberdeen?
I'll be on my way down from the granite city.
