Of course, this is the best news of the day so far.
Monday 14th November sees some of Manchester’s favourite sons play to hometown crowd. ACR (A Certain Ratio) will be supporting New Order at the Manchester Carling Apollo in what promises to be a legendary night for Factory fans. Both bands have enjoyed a massive resurgence in recent years with a host of new talent citing them as major influences from Interpol to LCD Soundsystem. Although New Order / Joy Division and ACR played together on a regular basis during the late seventies and early eighties this is the first time they have performed together under one roof since their gig in 1988 at Manchester’s G-MEX venue. Anyone lucky enough to have a ticket for this event is going to have an amazing night!

Explains a lot... here, we had Carling, then it merged with the O'Keefe brewrie, then it merged with Molson... and now it's merge with Coors!
Complicated, but you get the picture ;)
Now that I think of it, they still sells "Carling" as a beer too.. it's green if I remember right (bottle)

Having never heard or heard of ACR I'll be watching them, me and my mate have both agreed,get there asap, straight to the front,right hand side.....will see if Hooky is cooler than JJ Burnel 
i seems i have been missing something here aint i. i have never seen live or ever owned an acr record.i knew they where around in them old days but didnt take much notice of them. still i wont see them this time either though because i am an over greedy vodka drinker,so will probally stay in pub in town or later round the back of apollo till order are on. o bollocks
Are Topping and the rest of the band on good terms? There's not much on the ACR bio to suggest that there was badblood between them when he split, and one thing the band always points out is that they were one of the few Factory alumni who never had a falling out with each other (not to mention owning their own material once Factory croaked).

All of my mates who are part-time Order fans are well- annoyed about missing ACR as well now.
