SHIT!! i thought this was a joke but i just checked my email and found its true!
BOB State & 'live' do not go together. i saw them 'live' once and the backing track was played at the wrong speed (in the days of vinyl) before slowing it down and trying to convince us they were 'live'....
this will be a good point to stock up with alcohol.

if you check the 808 stuff someone linked the other day...there is some live stuff there, and some of the parts are definitely live, mainly drum machines by the sound of it. First time I seen them was on the late show on bbc2 and that was live.
however...I've seen the same dodgy shit.

Saw them years ago when EX-EL came out,at G-Mex on their "Turbo Rave"! Bjork joined them on stage for Qmart and Oops.They were amazing.
Saw them support New Order in the summer. To be honest, they were alright. A lot more musicians in there, and not just knobs and buttons. More of a 'live' feel. However, if they played a club gig tomorrow I bet they'd be lucky to pull 500 people. They ain't a major attraction to help fill nigh on 20k seats in the MEN.
Am sure Nick King would disagree though!

Anyone know what time it starts and ends? With all these bands, we really are going to be looking some very short sets.
Some good old 'charidee night' running order discipline will help too.

The Darlo Order were at the very same 'gig' - from what we can remember, it was superb....! 808 State & MC Tunes will be good for nostalgia at least!! 
Well, 808 might have played to backing tapes many moons ago (89/90), but definitely not any more - more of a live band (as Al says) with guitars, bass guitars and drums (together with the synths).
Oh, and I was also at the Turbo Rave gig - absolutely fantastic!
They will only be playing 3 (possibly 4) songs, though... And the whole shebang starts at 7:30pm, so the Order probably won't be playing that many songs either...
Regardless, I've booked into the Travel Inn near MEN Arena - short trip back!
Anyway, must go back to the beach now (in Philippines at the moment) as it's about 35 degrees out there! 
When I first got into New Order and Depeche in the late 80s, I started looking for more synth based acts and the first one I found was 808 State! Saw them a couple time incl once supporting New Order on the Republic tour!
