According to Soccer AM earlier Jim from The Doves said bands will be collaborating on each others songs throughout the night.

The Doves did BLT at the Gretton thing.

Now with 808State on the same bill as New Order.. Mmmm :smoking:

Unfortunately, 808 are only doing 3 songs that night - "Primary Rhyming" (with MC Tunes), "Paradan", and "Nbambi"...

Ah well... "Spanish Heart" would have been good... And, yeah, Barney joined them for "Magical Dream" (on 16th March 1990 at the G-Mex) :)

Not really, no... Still, 3 songs I haven't heard live yet, so not too disappointed...

Maybe Barney and Doves will do This Time I'm Not Wrong?

I don't think it'll happen but looking at the line-up there's the best chance you're probably going to get of Electronic performing. Obviously there's Barney and Johnny but funnily enough most of their backing band circa 1999 is there in the shape of Jimi Goodwin and Phil Cunningham. They're just missing the drummer (Jed Lynch, ex-Black Grape).

It isn't half incestuous the Manc music scene

Oh, btw, for those that are interested, Graham Massey will be DJing at the British Art Show at Urbis the night before (Friday), and Andy & Daz will be DJ'ing at the Carling Academy, Liverpool early Sunday morning (together with Carl Craig) :)

Unfortunately, I won't be in Manchester until Saturday, and I think that by 3am Sunday morning, I'll be in bed! :baby:

Need to find an update on Pete Frame's Rock Family Trees.

I *think* this is the latest one (published 1998), in which case it should be available from one of the bookshops around the city (Waterstones, possibly)?

Also mentioned on the Cerysmatic Factory website here

Speaking of 808 State, who was that Bez-wannabe who used to dance on stage at their gigs back in the day?
