Just got back from seeing Hooky at Detroit Bar. Very good show... set was almost identical to his previous set there, which was fine with me...
My memory might fail me, but he played a mix of "Love Will Keep Us Together" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart"... very ironic! As far as JD/NO/side projects, he played Regret, Blue Monday, Transmission, WDYWFM, She's Lost Control, and Temptation. Most of these were remixes and/or cover versions. He also played 24 Hour Party People, Anarchy in the U.K., "Galvanize" and "Out of Control" by the Chemical Brothers, a couple of Killers tunes, a dub song, and others.
Got to meet the man himself afterward, and he was very cool. I asked him about a new New Order album (in light of reports that there was a lot of material from the WFTSC sessions) and I think he said that the new album was done, and he wants it to come out soon. I think he also said that he would be "delighted" to tour the U.S. But between his accent and the alchol I consumed, I'm not sure any of this paragaph is correct. Except for the fact that I did in fact meet Mr. Hook.
This was the second time in the last 3 months that Mr. Hook has assumed control of Detroit Bar. I'm hoping this is a trend that will continue...
