Nobody making a holiday out of this one? Cannae be annoyed doing an "in and out". Four nights in Barca sounds about right. Had a riot last year. Not fussed about Madrid.

Ouch. We're not sure what time they're on in Madrid yet, are we? Could be a 2am or 4am slot, no?!

Was tempting, but I need to try and save my annual leave for a possible holiday around Christmas, Athens (if confirmed), The Big Chill, and anything else that comes out of the woodwork between now and the end of the year... ![]()

Nah, not for this, I'm gonna take a longer break in Greece as it's a mate's bidet out there. You know, should that one finally get the all-clear!

You should be able to manage it faster than that ![]()
diggy mike, you said you're going. i might make it to the barcelona gig, funds permitting.
wino, it's not as expensive as some people on here would have you believe. i've found tickets for roughly 70 quid return. you just have to know where to look and you DON'T need to collect the tickets on site. it's also very cheap to stay in barcelona (decent accomodations) if you know the right places, as well. e-mail me and i can help you out.
that is, if you're still interested what with the kids in tow (if that's what you mean by under-18s).
I'm sitting it out. Hate flying visits. If there's a bigger team doing Athens for a longer stint then I'm in. Only gonna do gigs in places I aint been and really want to see and having been to Barca four times in the last 18 months I could live without it. Madrid has never appealed (a city without a river?!!!).
If they've plans to do Taipei, Shanghai, Rio, Perth (Australia!) or anywhere on the Camchatka Peninsula in Russia then I'm a dead cert.![]()
good decision. madrid is one of worst capital cities in europe. first night i was there i was woken up by an ETA bomb going off down the road. nice intro. not to mention i had second degree burns over my entire body (except for the bikini area) from two days of topless sunbathing in biarritz just before (i was stupid enough not to wear sunscreen). not the best way to spend your holiday. it's boring, boring, boring compared to barca (except for the prado, which is quite extraordinary).

Just checked the Iberia site for my Barca flights and I can't find that price anywhere for that route or those days? Iberia's lowest price for London>Barca seems to be £95 return at the moment. Add a chunk of taxes (£42.90) and it ends up as £137.90. Am I missing something on the site or has the price just shot up? :\ohwell:
EasyJet's looking the way to go at the moment for about £125 in all.
EDIT: With the cheapest Iberia you can only fly into Barca for about 6 in the evening on the Saturday which is presumably a bit late for the gig. On the other hand, to get a Saturday morning Iberia flight you're looking at about 160/170 return unless you're prepared to leave home at 5am then it's a tenner less.

Try skyscanner.net as the first port of call, Ally.
Chances are they'll just show up the Easyjet flights anyhoo.
Why you flying from London and not Edinberg though, or is this interconnecting or something?

Depends what you call a longer stint? At the moment I'm doing Athens from Thursday night (well, 2am Friday morning lands) till Monday evening. Well, you know, when it's finally signed and sealed.

Will do, I was using the Iberia website for the prices I found. I want these booked in the next few days because as Nick rightly advised me the prices'll shoot up come the start of May.

Nah, I'm moving to London early next month so I'll be living there by the time the gigs come around... Lewisham here I come!
Travelling abroad from London is usually ten times easier than anywhere else in the UK isn't it?

Just had a meeting booked on 5th June in Hinckley, which means I'll have to leave Athens on the Sunday, and fly (via Amsterdam on KLM) to Birmingham and then get to Coventry, which finally leads to a taxi to Hinckley (and the hotel)... Bloody work... ![]()
Planes, Trains and Automobiles, anyone? ![]()

That's probably flying at a strange time though, no? You can fly out on Thursday morning for 20 notes one way, or something, but then it's gone up to about 40 quid in the evening, when most people are probably flying over. I don't want to waste more holidays than absolutely necessary so will work the Thursday, then go that night. Sunday's a pain getting back though - Monday's a much cheaper day to return, no?

the price includes a (late) morning flight to barcelona and an evening return flight to london. leaving the 12th, returning the 16th. all one has to do is fly through different airports, that's all.

The 12th's a Wednesday though, no? Which reduces the price again.
Think we all flew out the Wednesday last year actually.
Strange how everyone's now flying out on the Thursday this year. You'd think we were all saving our holidays for something else which might crop up! ![]()

Right, I'm booking my Barcelona Summercase ticket just now before my I do my flights. I really hope the band don't end up doing what has been already mentioned in this thread i.e. reverse venue order so they end up in Madrid on the 15th.
They shouldn't, should they?
It's the "has happened before" bit that's worrying me.
Just my paranoia, I'm sure (fingers crossed) it'll be fine!

Nope, Barca first, defo.
Got an e-mail today from Andy Rob.
Sorry, no, or was it Madrid first?! ![]()
Nope, in all serious, I did get an e-mail today from Andy and it's DEFO Madrid first then Barca second.
Which is good cos those are the order of the flights I booked last night!

Got a shootah packed? You'll need one in Lewisham! Millwall country.....even though it is nearer to Charlton.
What you working in down here then?
Right, I'm on the TickTackTicket site (which completely wouldn't work via Mozilla) in IE and I've begun the process to order the tix. I notice the "International Delivery" option isn't available (National is) so I'm presuming you just order now and collect at the venue? Just making sure..
PS. Al, do you have a working torrent for Sopranos ep6? I've tried about four but none of the bastard seeds seem to want to share ![]()

Yeah, I've got a torrent and already got the whole file. I can mail you the torrent if you want, or if you've got soulseek you can get it there?
EDIT: just collect at venue, there's very few international gigs who'll mail tickets out.

Yeah I'll be looking for work. Did 3 years in Edinburgh so time to try somewhere new and London seems as good a place as any. Will be poaching a free(ish) room off my brother initially and doing a bit of intensive jobhunting throughout May.
Especially with the cheap accommodation I'd be a numpty to turn down the opportunity, even if it is in Lewisham! ![]()
We're gonna be needing a couple of long-term temps from May (government IT programme's project office in Westminster, just off Millbank), if that's your sort of thing let me know and I will have a word with the powers that be. ![]()

That could be just the ticket!
Thanks for that Tim, will defo keep it in mind ![]()
I'm doing up my CV atm, should be finished shortly.
