I'm trying to find info on internal flights in Greece. I'm probably going to book a cheap package holiday to a Greek Island and fly into Athens for the gig. Can anybody recommend a good site where I can book an internal flight and look at timetables? Are there any budget airlines in Greece? I've tried Google but i keep getting directed to the wrong type of sites.

Any help greatly appreciated. :thumb:

Olympic Airlines seem to be the main Greek airline.

Hey! So you ll finally be Greek this summer!

Well, there is a site you can check all the air tickets in Greece. http://www.airticket.gr/airline_ticket_bookings.htm Choose Domestic Flights and you re there..

However i have to tell you: Airplane tickets are expensive in Greece.. You ll probably pay about 100Euros to fly from any place in greece to another.. (and this with no return!) And there are no budget airlines here, but it is possible to find a foreign one in summer. I would recomend you to choose a boat trip to Athens (unless you go to Crete, Rhodes, Kos and in general islands that are far..) If you travel to Cyclades Islands you wont have a problem, there are a lot of ship routes and you ll be in Athens within 2-5 hours depending where you are...

for better prices than Olympics Air try this:http://www.aegeanair.com/aegeangr/home/index.asp good company no worries. for good holiday packages i really trust them:http://www.directline-holidays.co.uk/Thomas%20Cook i used to book via them when i was living in london. There are also some travel agencies in Bayswater-London i'll try to find some details to send. Take care all!

Thanks guys - I need to fly out to Athens on 2nd June and back on 4th June, as we start a holiday in Zakynthos on 6th June, and my wife won't let me meet her there and go straight from Athens!!!!!

Who's the expert on getting to and from Athens Airport? Chances are I will need to be going pretty much after the gig, as my flight back (if I book the one I am looking at right now) leaves at 05.35 on Sunday 4th.

There is always a wife that will prevent a man from doing what he wants didn't you know?

So from and to the airport there is: A) the train (starts with the Metro-underground and you change a train on the way) tha takes you about 45 minutes, costs about 7-10 euros, but you have to get it from downtown.. B) There are express buses that pass from the venue and Glyfada about every 45 minutes that will take you there in 45 minutes with 3 euros C) a taxi will cost you about 15 euros However public transports usually stops in midnight but in summer they may change..

But keep in mind: the festival (the dj set part specially) may be on untill the time you ll leave.. So ll u definitely have things to do till then!

And just dont worry! We ll definitely find a way to send you back! Who wants to mess with a wife?

Aegean airlines (the link that Georgo has already gave u guys) is what i use to travel around Greece, and i travel a lot around Greece lately. That e-ticket u can get there is the cheapest way to travel by air, as far as i know, and from my job, im supposed to know  If ure lucky, u can get a ticket, from about 40 or 50 euros per direction, however, its not for Zakynthos, still it covers most of the major greek destinations. And yes, dont worry, it is a perfectly descent company, not anything like a cheap charter airline or something.

Still, another airticket link that might prove to be useful, is this: http://www.airtickets.gr. Good luck!

And Tim, Vasilipepe said it all about ways to get to/from Athens airport. I wouldnt worry too much if i were u or anybody else contacting us here, Greeks love their cars way too much and the road to/from the airport is the best in Greece, who doesnt wanna drive it? :D
