So Alan Wise promises that Bournemouth will be not a Mainstream Gig, any guesses to what he might mean by this?

I think it will be a mixture, aimed at the fans. A celebration and a party atmosphere after all. Hopefully band, fans and all others involved will just be out to have a good time together. Let's not moan about it even before it's happened!

As far as I'm concerned as long as they keep on playing live, then I'm happy!
I think he means it won't be a normal gig...
So basically might be people going on stage between songs etc... more intimate.
Who knows, maybe even special requests! :p

Got my tickets for the 30th birthday party and cant wait hope they do something special for that night should be great. Does anyone know how many people the venue holds? cheers

On a slightly more serious note.... Is the gig it's self definitely going to be different? or is it more to do with the fact that it's aimed more at fans who have followed the whole musical life of the band in all it's forms and that there will be the party afterwards?

I think Alan Wise is just hyping it all up.
The blurb says the Manc coaches leave at midday and get back at 5am. Given it'll be a five hour journey back that don't leave much scope for an aftershow party.

an interesting notion, were it to happen. Even with my 'limited' knowledge/experience, but paying attention to the sentiment of my nool "betters" a healthy amount of scepticism reigns (see turn...)

Tricia managed to get two of the last 20 standing tickets from the ticket agent - would have got them from Alan direct (sorry mate) but neither of us have cheque books and even if I had, mine would have bounced higher than Julian Cope on his Trampoline...
Anyway, I'm looking forward to it, whatever the band play. Nowadays, seeing my mates and having a laugh and several beers is as much a part of a gig as seeing the band play. Each time I go to a gig now, I end up chatting with a different bunch of people at each gig - Shug, Al J, Martin (LF) Mike, Rocket Mick, Martin (Fradley), Ness, Geri (& hubby), Paul, Paul & Matty, etc, etc... oh and not to forget Ethan *lol*
And with this one, we get beers before the gig, New Order then legit late night beers for afters at a party - now that CAN'T be bad... can it?

I'd still probably enjoy myself at the time but remember feck all the next day as usual.
Bournemouth is probably one of the most awkward places to get to from Aberdeen on a monday but it's possible to fly direct from glasgow. Probably easier to get to than Newcastle as it 'appens.
I didn't really think of going to this gig but now I'm wondering whether to go and whether this will be a special 30 year anniversary bash with a special set of possibly Joy Division songs or will it be the same set that will be played at the later gigs in October as I have tickets for the Wembley Arena gig. If it is going to be a special gig/set/night does anyone know if there are still any standing tickets available from the Promoter or Alan Wise etc. and if not does anyone know where I could get hold of one without paying over the odd's on ebay?! Any advice would be appreciated - thanks!!
