Recent setlists: samey?

Far be it for me to imply the chaps are becoming lazy, but I've noticed that the same songs crop up on nearly every setlist and a good many of them have been singles.

Recently we've seen the magnificent Twenty-Four Hours make a welcome return after many years in the wilderness (sic) with Working Overtime appearing too but at least eighty percent of any set has been played many times before. What say you? Compare the setlists of recent gigs and see what I mean? It might be heresy but are Temptation and Blue Monday due a rest?

I'd love to hear Everything's Gone Green or Sunrise given a good airing as well as Dream Attack or even Fine Time. It seems the days of a different set every gig are long gone!

Not as samey as say 1993, at least they do tend to vary the set by a couple of songs, (I know not always)

Things will never be the same as the old days when you could watch them 2 nights on the trot and have a different set each night!

yup lazy as fuck,its just a career now, i very much doubt the same passion is there that used to be, but then i spose thats the same with most bands of their age.

for 2012, i expect recorded blue monday, temptation, blt, pk, true faith,and regret while waiting ,then atmosphere as they take the stage. then , live ,heart and soul, cries and whispers, lonesome tonight, age of consent,this time of night, every little counts with gillian vocal, dream attack, special, everyone everywhere, crystal , vicious streak, brutal, waiting for sirens call, player in the league. then intermission, then more, hellbent, such a good thing, behind closed doors, turn the heater on, denial, round and round ,chemical , here to stay , and fade out with avalanche.

I think a lot of it is politics. They're signed to a major label now who is investing a lot of time and money into their concerts and whatnot, so they have to play by the rules. That being said, I'd love to see them switch it up every night and do like 9 song sets to troll Warner Bros.
