Just read the news in the main page. These are going to be the first gigs in Brazil since 1988, not 1989.

Ok, I fixed it... I remembered it was for Technique so I assumed 89, my fault ;)

Who's going?

I'm seriously considering jet setting it down there.

What are those venues like? Are they general admission or assigned seating? How close could we get?

How expensive/cheap is a week in Brazil? Round trip airfare from here is only about $1000. :faint:

No news about elsewhere in South America yet? My Spanish is far better than my Portuguese.

Via Funchal is a great venue, with capacity of 7000. It's my favorite venue in the city and I'm glad they're playing there. You can check the venue's website (English version): http://www.viafunchal.com.br/eng/default.asp

I've never been in Fundição Progresso but I was told that's a decent venue too, with capacity of 5000.

I am expressly forbidden by my wife from travelling to Brazil, on pain of death or worse! How much are the flights?

All South American dates announced on the 27th.

Fingers crossed, folks. :thumb:

I've had a quick look....

Manchester To Sao Paulo (Leaving 9th Returning 19th giving you a couple of days in case something's added) is about £550.

I also did a round trip Manchester - Sau Paulo - Rio - Manchester, which (With different flights) was also £550.
Bargain!

Out of my range unfortunately.

Cheers Jon

Really? Keeping my fingers crossed for Argentina, obviously.

I read in an Argentinian forum that apparently the date for NO here would be November the 18th, as part of a festival. This is a much more probable date than the 5th, isn't it?

Yes!!!!!

You have no idea of the excitement here below the equator!!!!

The Fundição Progresso is a cool venue, located at Lapa, a very traditional place of Rio. Franz Ferdinand and Slayer will play there in September.

You all are so very welcome to Rio de Janeiro if you want. If anybody needs any help can email me.

Sorry, but I won't be there even if you pay the flight, unless I win the lottery. There are sometimes more important things in life than New Order.

I hope they are three (or even more) great dates, and everyone gets what they wish for, but I shan't be part of it, sadly.

Hoping that they are gonna stop in America after these gigs in Brazil!
