the official festival site is promoting New Order on Nov17 instead of 18 like it was mentioned: http://www.personalfest.com.ar/
this could modify some plans for the fans comming. so we better check this out in order to have the exact info. 
btw, Black Eyed Peas plays on 18th and it was also confirmed The Rasmus!

It's a good thing my flight to EZE is early on the 17th. Looks like I won't have to make any reservation changes either way.
Weird that they would play BA the night after Rio. If I were to bet, I'd say they're playing on the 18th, simply because the 17th leaves them too little time for travel.
Think most of the Engerlish and German Orders travel on the Friday anyways. If that's the case it gives us more chance to kick back and relax for the rest of the weekend (I don't leave BA till the Monday). Dunno why, but I thought this was a one-day festival with the Order and BEP co-headlining!

Count the (lone?) Yank Order in with that same itinerary. I also plan to stay and enjoy the weekend.

usually the main bands start playing around midnight since on festivals you have to add all the other bands delays during the day. last time gates were opened sometime 17hs and the main bands played between 23 and midnight.

Been looking into this area as well. The venue is somewhat far removed from the city center, but it's very close to a rail station. The transit system here is much better than in Rio or Sao Paulo. So rather than find a place near the venue, I'm thinking I'll stay somewhere more centrally located so I can easily go sightseeing and I'll take the train to the venue.
Not sure where yet. Haven't gotten that far. There's no shortage of hotels in this city, though.
Here's one right in the heart of the city with low room rates but still looks decent...
Beds are probably small and the windows probably don't have a view, but I'm not picky about stuff like that. I can sleep anywhere. To me what matters is location and convenience. Your criteria may vary.

When ordering the tickets is it better to have them mailed or picked up at the the gate? I would like to get them mailed but I'm not sure which of the listed mailing options to select. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

I think you can only get the tickets mailed to you if you live in Argentina.
I chose the "Retiro en punto de venta" option which means I get to pick up my ticket at any Ticketek location once I arrive in Buenos Aires. There should be a link to a list of locations somewhere on the page.
Otherwise you can pick "Retiro en boleteria" which I think is pretty much the same as will call. You pick up the tickets at the venue.
So are you going from Canada? :)

The festival seems to be 20 kms north of downtown. I think, there will be a shuttle service, too.

for hotels in Buenos Aires i highly recommend Cabildo Suites. it´s 25 blocks away from the venue (as near as you can get i guess), far from the downtown craziness, near trains, subway and buses to go wherever you want. oh, and it´s just 10 blocks away from my place so whatever you need you´ll have a friend pretty near ;)
rates are 200 pesos, which is US$ 65, € 50 or £ 35

well it depends how long will you stay and what do you want to do when you´re here. this is a good option to stay away from downtown (this is a big city and downtown is as crazy as any other metropoli in the world) and you have the chance to be there in 15 minutes by subway in you want to. when our greek friends were here they stayed on that hotel and i must say it´s very good.
for the ones looking for a cheaper place i´d recommend hostels. there´re tons of them and some are pretty good. stay away from bed&breakfasts though, they´re almost as expensive as a hotel.

The hotel seems to be **** and is good. The price is very good, too. But we are 2-3 days in BA and the concert is only on one day. This is an advantage of a hotel in the city. But I think, the prices in the city will be higher.
the city? i don´t know what you mean by that but this hotel, as well as the venue, are inside Buenos Aires city, on the north side. neighbourhoods are called Belgrano (hotel) and Núñez (venue).

I meant the center of the City. You can stay there and go with the bus to the venue or You can stay a little bit outside near the venue and go with the bus from there into the center of the city.
the official webpage just included Peter Hook DJ Set as confirmed. i´m sure it will take place the previous day of the NO concert. i can´t imagine it being the same day! well, another excuse to stay one more day in BA!

Top stuff. We were hoping Hooky would be doing little DJ skits during this entire tour, just as he did in the US last year!
does he hav all his gear & drive around in a battered transit van,wiv 'Peters mobile Disco' on the side....???
finally it was confirmed today that Hooky will spin his set after the NO show the same saturday Nov18 at the dance tent. so if anyone was still wondering what to do don´t think twice because you´ll have everything in one night!
