Sounds good to me. Do you know of any B&B's or hotels nearby?

Okay, I spent a couple of nights in Wolverhampton this week (work in Telford, but all hotels were full), and:

  • Britannia Hotel is about 5 minutes (time it takes me to finish a cigarette) walk from the railway station - really easy to find
  • Yates' is another 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel
  • Yates' is opposite the venue, so yes, best place to meet up!

As for places to eat, I didn't find anything half-decent (ended up eating in the hotel bar, which wasn't up to much)... Of course, there might be some, but all I could find were McDonald's, Kebab shops, and Kebab shops selling pizzas... Oh, and most of them were shut after 10pm...

So, for places to eat, I'd recommend Yates (although I haven't checked the food in there, it's got to be better than the fast food places that are in short supply in Wolverhampton)!

Oh yeah, the hotel is very basic, with a bar that's seen better days, and shuts about 10pm... :skeptic:

If we want to eat after the gig we'd better find a hotel with a wedding on :food:

Well, the bus station is between the railway station and the Britannia hotel, so that's definitely closer...

Don't believe the Metro stop is *that* far away, though! :)

The Gloucestershire crew will be there. So that's me and my wife, with another bloke and his wife ... and another blokes wife. All over 40 and clinging on with white knuckles (Nurse ... my tablets please). Still relishing my best ever NO gig at ULU in '85 and looking for the c--t who threatened me at the front of the Oxford Apollo gig (also in '85 I think) when I was a mere youth.

Are a lot of people in Novotel?? You are, I am, wondered if it was the most popular choice generally??

I'm in the Holiday Inn.

Wish I'd known you were there. You never invite me to any of your after-after show parties. Well I'll show you. I'll sit in the Holiday Inn all by myself and sulk.

That will show you.

Yeah.

I'm coming to Wolves on your wonderful train system. Should see you all some time on Tuesday.

Seriously, Jimmy Saville can suck my fat one - British Rail had better not fuck this one up and I don't care what type of fucking leaves are on the line.

Jones the Steam, can you hear me?

Fat Controller? Your card is marked, baby.

And if the buffet car has got no brandy I'm cracking people's heads

I'll show you how to slay Virgins - Branson had better send a car if there's a delay.
