Just got back (local boy! Thank gawd for Premier Taxis! End of plug.) Bloody great but no surprises on the setlist front. Did like the segue between Perfect Kiss & Blue Monday though. Wouldn't have known Barney's got tonsilitis unless he'd told us.

Seeing as it's 20 odd years since they've been in this neck of the woods, it's a scary thought to think it's probably going to be the last time we'll see them round here (we're all getting too old!! Bah)

Everybody there was chilled though. Big shout out to all the other fans. They were top all night, even down to letting the other half get to the bar before them. Chivalry & manners aren't dead! Absolutely brilliant.

Can't say anymore as I'm still recovering from too many beers (what was with the toilets? 6 urinals for a few thousand blokes? Knobs! LOL!) and too much stupid dancing from myself and the missus during Temptation.

But where the fuck did that rain come from? Madchester.

I think it went something like this....

Crystal Regret Who’s Joe? Ceremony Waiting For The Sirens' Call These Days Twenty Four Hours Krafty Your Silent Face Guilt Is A Useless Emotion Bizarre Love Triangle Temptation The Perfect Kiss Blue Monday

Turn (encore) Shadowplay (encore) Love Will Tear Us Apart (encore)

I'm just back now, to Manchester. Managed to get ourselves some backstage passes at the very end from Sarah. Thanks Sarah!! Was pretty boring afterwards as only Phil stayed for a drink. So we didn't stay long. Gig itself? Was great. Sound coulda been better. loved the set though - a good mix of new ish and old. Played Shadowplay so I was happy!! Poor Bernard with his tonsillitis though.

Looking forward to Glasgow - got guestlist!!!!

Aw, didn't hear those!!! Bet they were good though?

The sound was appaling! really bad. piss poor. frankly shite. Bit too packed as well. Seen them times before though, so I guess one bad apple is OKish. Plenty of bogs where I was though! Still a nice day out by the seaside.

tonsilitis??

oh no....

Finally, they are playing the WFTSC songs I've always wanted them to play in the same show. (Turn, Joe, WFTSC, Krafty, Guilt) :thumb:

I just hope I get to hear Joe & Guilt Live someday.

I'm glad they didn't play Atmosphere, as I feel they played it one to many times since 1998. Warsaw would have been cool.

Good gig, was way more into the second half than the first. Must be me though, feeling slightly jaded after a 5.00am start. Sound was shit, very shit. Couldn't make out a single utterance from young Bernard. Did hear the 'clunk' though after he dropped the wireless mike during a period of dad dancing. Thought the crowd very receptive on the whole, and certainly love Temptation tonight.

Left people enjoying themselves in the after show. Section 25 all showed up, with the exception of Larry.

Quality night out, finished off with insomnia due to too many diet cokes (driving) and wondering if I did really see that guy walking down the central resevertion of the dual carriageway as I drove home.

Oh and cheers to Old Monkey for sorting the ticket and generally being a good bloke to sink a drink with pre and post show.

Ma heids banging and my ears are ringing. Too much beer and loud concerts tend to do that.

As for the gig, I thought it was great. Thank fuck they made a couple of minor changes in 24 Hours and Turn, that was much needed.

I also thought the crowd were great, it started off slow as we watched Crystal from the sides with a beer, then thought "Fuck it" as we dived straight to the front.

Thanks to John & Lorraine for the driving duties yet again, and apologies for falling asleep as soon as I got in the car on the way home :D

Great day out, loads of new faces to compliment the old one's. Some kinda story to follow when I've recovered.

Not actually a 'borough', Shug - its a posh old house where Lord Lichfield used to live.

Gig was OK: lively crowd, but the set peaks with Temptation/TPK and it's all a bit downhill after that for me - encore a wee bit redundant. Sound was bobbins as several have mentioned above. Show also tainted by all and sundry telling me that the Newcastle gig I missed was "the best for a decade".

Oh well....

sound seemed great to me :confused2:

Just had a text message about a spot of bother with a Blackpool landlady.

It sounds as though we might be a few down for Glasgow, depending on how the Police respond to the allegations.

The inner Factory nerd wonders what Section 25 played.....any ideas anyone? Old stuff, new stuff? What was the line-up, Larry, Vin, Ian Butterworth? Any more?

As seems to be traditional these days, it started out excellent and then petered out as the gig went on. These Days actually sounded quite good, and thank christ Atmosphere wasnt played (unless of course, it was a cover of the Russ Abbott song). Few fucking emo kids in the crowd.

man of the night goes to Grant for crowdsurfing with than Bin Laden mask.

Well that was bloody GREAT.Sound problems did not marr the gig for me.Highlight was THE PERFECT KISS but i did miss most of GUILT due to a bog then beer journey!Great to meet up with you lot again.Like my NEW image?

Sound was a bit iffy.. but all n all a great gig.. Temptation & TPK was the highlight for me...Great to finaly meet some of u lot (oh and thanks for the Vikings badge) :thumb:

Only down side of the whole thing was Blackpool itself.. what a total shit hole of a place it is now...had a walk along the prom in the afternoon... u could smell sewage...endless shops selling cheap tat.. tons of skally chav tossers sittin on benches in there track suits n cheap bling...nice

Got some rock tho :D

we danced towards the back and thought the sound was fine. reallly pleased to hear these days and 24 hours sounding so good. really good party atmosphere. a great night though suffering today.

 I had a great time... I can see why new order gigs are addictive now lol

The sound wasn't great in parts, some kinda feed back thing I think. but honestly I Could not have cared less as it was only occasionally, (at least to my ears)

Missed a tiny bit at the start through getting a beer, which I then spilt most of whilst heading to the front, I managed to get almost to the barrier in front of Bernard....What a view. I lasted about half the set(I think?!?) there... ....before realising that breathing wasn't a choice but a necessity! And escaping further back for some much needed air. (Damn my lack of stamina...must smoke less)

I agree I wouldn't have said he was struggling with his voice at all.

It was initially very surreal to meet a lot of you: but it quickly became very cool,:thumb: thanks for my badge and for making me feel so welcome, everyone that I talked to was friendly and interesting in their own way.

I just wish I had more money so I could do it all again

A good night indeed. Was severely pished at the end so don't recall most of the aftershow (or how the fuck I got back to the hotel). Didn't enjoy the gig as much as Newcastle though. Was good to hear Turn again. Sound was terrible though, so much for the new sound rig that was supposed to make everything sound crystal clear!

Bored with this set now, glad I'm not doing Glasgow!

I had a great time as usual except for missing the first two songs then arriving just as Ceremony was coming on. Problem was we were at the back of the hall and at the wrong side!!

It was the first time Boaty had heard it live and we had to fight our way to the front of Hooky!!

Bernard seemed to really enjoy himself, pirouetting like a ballerina! That bouncy dance floor was better than the pleasurebeach too!

Aftershow was a good laugh too although we were all wet through when we left. I will desist from telling about later events for legal reasons.

The girl from Bolton? She say yay!

Yeah it's was a great set.GUILT was excellent live,as was THESE DAYS.Hadn't noticed ANYTHING wrong Barney's voice, till he mentioned saying he needed to take something for hid throat,to which I shouted PERNOD! Pre-show was a blast, great to see everyone again plus some new faces.MAYA! :hi:BOATY! Oh and Clint and his good lady from Oldham.Never got to meet MINXIE,didn't know you were a red-head!

Aftershow at the Rock Club was excellent.Plenty of NO, to the DJ for playing LADYTRON's "17". After dancing all night till 2.30 nursing a bad head (roly-poleys?) went for a suspiciously un-chickeny chicken kebab.

Yeah, obviously saw you Jack, didn't wave though 'cos didn't know if you could see me. You were sensible not to come out front, it was the typical Northern-gig lung squashing experience!!

Think I may have a pic of you and your dad, haven't reviewed them yet. Thought it was sweet of him to give you a kiss at the end - awwh!

Great to see everyone in the pub before, new and old faces.

Fantastic atmosphere, beautiful venue. Very happy to hear Guilt. Bernard's dancing seems to have to progressed into sticking his tongue out, flapping his arms and spinning around!

Came away proud owner of my second of Hooky's drumsticks, unfortunately not a matching pair, but can't complain!

Good to meet and have a 'dancing' partner with ORBie at the front.

The land lady legal problems sounds a bit serious, hope it isn't really! Glad we made the decision to go back after the first aftershow do or else would be feeling even worse now :dead:

Another quality pre-gig piss up. Stand up Adam for picking a decent boozer. Thought it was very Slaughterhouse like. Nice fella too. Excellent pins from Mr.Jarvis too. Thanks to Al,Jemma and whoever else kept the missus company on my frequent visits to the bar!!

Always nice to see the usual faces and some I haven't met before. BRF, Maya, Welshcake, Nick and Em and finally got to gab to John Sludden. All great people. Monty as ever on form! The missus did say Royser's accent was er "lovely"!!

Left around 8.30 and just as well as NO took to the stage 9.05 prompt. We were stood by the mixing desk on the right hand side. Andy Rob was at the desk swigging his Becks. I've heard worse gigs soundwise, Barney kept tailing off on songs due to his sore throat. Highlights were YSF, Temptation, Who's Joe, Guilt and the TPK/BM segue. Turn was performed better than the other times in the past I thought. I really didn't expect a difference in songs to be honest or something not played for a while. Hopefully the Glasgow double header will throw a spanner in the works.

Couldn't believe the rain outside afterwards and the queue to get out which was a joke. Why the fuck didn't they open some more doors?

Ended the night with a curry just by the Blue Room. All in all a good night. Thank fuck I didn't pester Mr Fradley though, phew!!

Gig was ok,not great, maybe I'm a bit bored with the setlist, have heard Regret,BM,Temptation,LWTUA & BLT a bit too much now. Can't say I thought the sound was particularly bad tho' as people seem to be saying, except for BLT which was bit shite.Crowd was great, really into it,& it was great too to hear TPK for first time in 17 years, for me anyway. It was an unexpected treat to see Section 25 too, played quite a bit of Always Now,some new stuff & Looking From A Hilltop,a dedication to Larry's deceased wife,Jenny, was quite touching.Don't think most of the audience knew who the fuck they were tho',shame. T-shirts £18 fucking quid????!!!! What's that all about?? Naughty. Highlights for me? These Days & Twenty Four Hours,WFTSC,KW1 & TPK.& Hookys' bass.Gorgeous as always :\ohwell:  :thumb:

The things you do. Left the East coast @ 6pm due to 'teachers stop back night' bollocks. Gave it Joe 90 across A66 country to Blackpool to get there 2 (yes 2) mins before NOrder walked on stage. Obviously, wearing a suit/tie & looking a bit of a knob and well sober i stayed towards the back and thus avoided the 'ordeal' of meeting any of you. Non-plused performance & shitty sound, but it filled in a night

Respect to Ness for operating the Viking Switchboard and getting all the early arrivers in the same place.

Well worth the 270 mile each way road trip !

Just got back (local boy! Thank gawd for Premier Taxis! End of plug.) Bloody great but no surprises on the setlist front. Did like the segue between Perfect Kiss & Blue Monday though. Wouldn't have known Barney's got tonsilitis unless he'd told us.

Did he have problems to sing because of the tonsilitis?

No more than usual!!
