The soundcheck was not done on Thursday cause they were happy with the sound on Wednesday.
I was a bit lost in Glasgow yesterday and heard the strains of the Good the Bad and the Ugly. I followed the sound to the exact spot where me, Roy and Ally had to wait for the girls on Wednesday (they'll know where I mean) and there he was - A busker with a strat!
I stayed until he finished the song but New Order didn't come on. Then I legged it with my fingers in my ears in case he started playing Albatros!
Glasgow 19th had 5 "Come On's" during LWTUA, 2 short of the new record that was set at Blackpool of 7

Which, according to Dian, New Order's soundage person, is Hooky's choice of track. I asked her in Blackpool.

Great moment when we all walked out of the venue, LWTUA still ringing in our ears, and Nick spotted the billboard opposite - the Vauxhall Corsa advert with the puppets shouthing C'MON!
Just realised, that Monk I met was dressed in jeans and t-shirt - he didn't even have a habit.

I was hammered at the Newcastle gig, so remembered very little, nice to enjoy the Glasgow gig unfettered by booze. Great performance, up there with the best, even against their 85,86,87 Scottish gigs.
One question - and this is bugging the ass off me - one of the records played pre-gig was familiar but i can't place it. NOT Kraftwerk, Afrika bambatta or Shannon, and it was played just before the finale morricone track - any ideas - quite funky, synthy and oddball.

mmmm, not sure. I do like my old skool electro but it wasn't hashim. Definitely a contemporary dance choon, for want of a better expression, as all the young birds behind the bar started gyrating when it came on.

Here is the Scotsman review of the show on the 18th. I was at the show on the 19th. I thought that Shadowplay sounded great. "Guilt" was flat and forgettable. Ceremony and These Days were thrilling.

Hi folks I'm new on here. I was at the show on the 19th, it's the first time I've seen them and it was fcuking fantastic!!
They played Chemical Brothers - Hey Boy Hey Girl round about then, but dunno if that's the song you mean.

I was at the second night in Glasgow - loved it, but was a little disappointed by Shadowplay instead of Transmission in the encore.
By the way, I counted 10 Come On's during LWTUA at the Electric Picnic in Ireland. Is that a record?!

That'll be Justice v Simian "Never Be Alone (We Are Your Friends)". It actually came out about three years ago and did nothing but was released a couple of weeks back and broke the top 20. Part of this new-electro thing that's bothering the stoodent discos nowadays. You'll find it on Itunes or......on the Pet Shop Boy's "Back To Mine" mix.

Fantastic! the prize goes to Glasvegas. Just listened to it and that's the one. I will avoid sourcing it on PSB comp though - a step too far.
