They gotta be added now, Shirley?!
Warm-up gig in Manc the week before.
Just booked a VIP ticket - still don't know if I can make it, though....
Okay, to try and avoid taking time off (which, unfortunately, is proving rather difficult this month - I had to beg for the 30th March...), and due to the fact I'm in Telford that week (and not due to return back home until the Thursday afternoon), I *might* be able to leave Telford on the Wednesday afternoon, and get to Manchester by about 6'ish (on the Wolverhampton train), and then get a very early train back from Manchester to London the next day...
I never got to see Monaco at the time, otherwise I wouldn't be contemplating this! ![]()

Forget it, Nick: it's Telford town.

Tell me about it, I'm up there most weeks (and have been since May last year)... Horrid place, and I've stayed in most of the hotels round Telford/Wellington/Shifnall/Ironbridge/Shrewsbury - very depressing... ![]()
The Music For Pleasure forum regulars are all wetting themselves over the prospect of this gig.
Oh yes, both of them are ecstatic ![]()
And what exactly does a VIP ticket get you ??
A commemerative Hard Rock Cafe cap or something ![]()

Probably! ![]()
BTW, for anyone who works in London and can't get Thursday off, there's a 5:20am train departing MCr, arriving back at 8:04am... If I do go, that's the one I'll be catching! ![]()

Gets you pretty much cack all. You get a nicer area to watch the gig in and thats it.
Durutti Column the week after, the day before Manc V Cancer for any early arrivals into town for that as well.

True, but if I'm making a special journey to get to Manc for it, an extra 15-odd quid won't make much odds - the train fares/hotels will be the main expenditure! ![]()
And it's for charidee! :)

OI!! 3 of us!!
Shame Liam cant be arsed...
According to a Myspace bulletin, Noel is headlining. Which is a shame, because Ian Brown- with full band, should go on last, much more exciting and energetic that a "semi acoustic" set.
cheers for the update & link Dave, but sadly (for me!) all the standing av' gone. I aint sitting in that shithole.
Any spares standing purleasee !

Got a ticket for this gig now- although still not sure i'll go. Defo up north for the weekend though (staying in the Mal Maison) and at Anfield on the Saturday for the game so we'll meet before/ after the game so I can smack you one in the chops!
That goes for you too Kershaw!
Hi All
I realise that we are probably back of a very long queue but Julie and I would love to go to this. If anyone notices any standing tix go on sale, could you please e mail me at r.hutchinson@connexions-tw.co.uk (weekdays 8.00-6.00)or rosie.h@blueyonder.co.uk outside of those times. Or, if you know of any tickets that anyone needs to sell . . . we would be really grateful.
Cheers
Rosie
After show party details - just bought ticket:
Manchester Vs Cancer with 808 STATE / UTAH SAINTS / MIKE JOYCE / The DOVES / BONEHEAD / AGV / THE UNABOMBERS / EL DIABLOS / STYLUS DJS / TOM WOODWARD /MARK SANTANGELO at Po Na Na, Manchester GENERAL ADMISSION
(all are DJ sets, btw, so 808 aren't playing live, nor are any of the other bands!)
Tickets available here

Got a couple of tickets for this now, so no longer need any :)
Theres one an at night and day which is
a) nearer and b) cheaper
I'm convinced I can find the lost art of live music somewhere after the cancer gig that night though.

:p
Personally, I'm only going there because it's a long time since I've gone to an 808 DJ-set - they normally put on a good show, and play some decent tunes, and since I'm in the area on that day...
This is the Night & Day after-party, btw:
TAILGUNNER plus guests also MANCHESTER Vs CANCER Aftershow Party with Special guests & DJ Wes (Up The Racket)
Door: £6 Advance: £N/A*
Times: 8PM - 2AM
Tailgunner, the next generation in rock and roll. Mark Coyle, often acknowledged as the sixth member of Oasis is back with his band Tailgunner. Introducing newest members Dave Sinnott and Gianluca Rizzuto, The bands energy and no bullshit attitude is clearly seen in there music. The band have supported Noel Gallagher and Gem at the Lowry Threatre, in the Manchester leg of their acoustic tour. We've got some gigs coming up soon so check them out.

Incase anyone is still looking for tickets, Julie managed to get 2 tix on e bay. Standing. Buy it now - £67 each. There were still 16 left last night. Don't like buying from e bay-especially when it's a charity event but I think it'll be too good a night to miss!
