I just didn't see the point of Noel stumming his way through the back catelogue like that. No real performance, just bashing out the chords and singing along with the audience.
I was really surprised when Liam came over and declared that he'd liked that part of the set - i much prefered watching my mate Paddy at his house the following night!

Ally: forgot that Noel did There is a Light. That, for me, was a summary of the night. A not bad version, but rubbish when compared to Johnny Marr's brilliant rip through it last year. You could download the chords from the internet and be rattling off a better version than that within five minutes.
Overall, not as good as last year.

I did but it was very difficult to get good shots.
The smoke machine on stage went into overload during EATB's set especially during Hooky's appearance on Ceremony. Every shot I took just produced misty silhouettes. It was a shit way to try and give some stage "atmosphere"; endless fog!
Towards the end of the gig I moved back towards the seating area because I wasn't that arsed about any of the acts to come and Hooky never reappeared anyway. Aside from one or two shots of some fellow Vikings I gave up on the photography very early on that evening.
The Hard Rock Cafe last week was much better for up-close Hooky photos as you could practically wander onto the stage if you wanted to. You don't get that very often at gigs so I made the most of it.

Funny you should mention crap gig shots. I think I took the worst photos EVER at that gig.
I remembered thinking that I had a nice one of Rachel (who was standing next to me) and Roy agreed. But, to the sober eye, it's crap.
Still, that's the cheap seats for yer!
