Finally! :)

According the the Concert Browser though, there was no gig in Glasgow in 2005...?

I think, that are the gigs, which were filmed, from October last year.

I hope they don't include any drunken shenanigans from certain Vikings outside the venue after the gig.

Wonder if it'll befall the same fate of the Hammerstein DVD, that is, this is an Amazon pre-listing that never saw the light of day...

Thanks for the link. Like with the other one, I've put my name down for a copy. Whether it will materialise, we'll just wait and see

I just hope there will be plenty of eighties stuff in the extras. Maybe a full gig and some tv-performances, please. :thumb:

“COMPLETE STONE ROSES” & “PETER HOOK” LIVE AT MANCHESTER ACADEMY 1!

Saturday 17th November 2007

Manchester’s favourite baggy act "THE COMPLETE STONE ROSES" return once again to their adopted home city to play at the newly refurbished “Academy 1” venue, located next door to the “students union” building on Oxford Road. This appearance will be the bands “6th appearance at the Union” and their “3rd consecutive appearance at 2500 capacity "Academy 1" venue.

Special guest DJ on the night will be “PETER HOOK” who has been working with the band throughout the last few years touring as the occassional support DJ as well as working with them on their debut single! (Charity release) and live concert DVD! (Live in Glasgow with Peter Hook) Both due out this year!

Hope this isn't amazons DVD! sure it can't be

I got the impression that it was Channel 4's descision to screen it on national TV without the consent of either the band or their management that went a long way towards it being withdrawn.

That, and the fact that some c*** torrented it the following day... ;)

Is there another band out there that has been as badly mis-managed as New Order?

Why do Warners pull the plug on releases such as Turn but include them in "Singles"?

Crazy world!:banghead:

I would hope it is the opposite, that in fact it will increase interest in a product like this, you can't beat a good 'we're splitting up' story to shift a few units!

It looks to be just a European release for now and will not play on US DVD players. I don't know if it will be released in the US :banghead:

Do we need another recent performance? I'd much rather they released that 80s canadian one that was rumoured to be in existence the other year.

Hooky's mentioned this on his MySpace blog. There's gonna be a NO commentary by the band, which quoted by Hooky "gonna be fun,'cause it'll just be us whinging through it" Also says he's happy with this one, making up for Finsbury Park DVD. Quite surprised by that,I watch that more than Reading!

Region-free DVD players are super cheap. You can pick one up at Target for $40. Of course it won't say it's region-free but by spending about 5 minutes on Google you can find out which brands can be hacked and how easy it is to do (literally just pressing a sequence of numbers on the remote).

Also, if you have a DVD copy program on your computer you can rip the original and the burned copy will automatically be region-free.

This is something that I did not know and something that I'll look into. Thanks for the info :thumb:

I've got quite a few PAL DVDs (Dead Or Alive, Tomorrow People, 24 Hour Party People special edition, etc). Sometimes a hacked player will stutter a bit during playback, but nothing too bad. I usually just burn a region-free copy of the disc and store it inside the original case.
