I was just thinking that September was looking a bit empty.
Put me and Roy down for that.
(I'll tell him later)

Lazy bastards - back in the day they'd have cycled that.
ATR and John (and I'm guessing Christine?) booked their flights already!
They're quick off the mark up norf! ![]()
Just checked the dates. Term time. I have now decided that being a teacher sucks.
And I got a tax refund this week!

Post of the Day right there. ![]()
So some Germans are rolling into Poland in September and are going to stay a while. Is this the 69th anniversary tour?

Cheeky!
Hmmmm... Tempted, as I've never been to Poland before (got to try that Wojak beer!), and it's in September which is looking pretty empty gigwise at the moment...
Oh, and I've got some holiday left... :)
Hmmm.... ![]()

Jim wants only say, it's a festival with 8 days of german temporary music, and he's joking. But I think, he didn't see, that they play even music of a man with the name "Goebbels" there.

Cheers Norbert, didn't see that! If I had and didn't comment it would have shown no balls. It's a pity they haven't got The Young Gods out of retirement to play the Kurt Weill Stuff, that was great!

I've got a crate of it in the spare van I picked up. Thats what you get when you employ a load of Poles. Also got a crate of one called whatever Polish is for 'Headfuck'.
I am tempted too. Might have to visit Poland in a bit. Feel like reversing the trend.
How could you turn down a chace to go to a gig in Krakow's OLD LENIN FACTORY ![]()
Will have to hold off booking a few weeks while I sort out some shifts though :\ohwell:
Me, JG and Gord on the Ryanair 6.15am out of Stansted, Friday, then back Monday morn.
Das ist gut, ja! ![]()
So where abouts in Poland is Krakow?
Flight booked on the Saturday at 735am, gets in at 1105am from Gatwick.
Will book flight back into... erm... Liverpool tomorrow, basically thinking I'll be at Uni somewhere up north.
Can someone email me hotel details as and when they are booked? Cheers

polish translator-
cheers for the info, hope this is doable for me.
Biginoil wrote: It really did take him that long to work out that teachers get the weekends off?
Not trainee teachers, they normally have shitloads to do on a weekend. Incidentally, we can all legitimately refer to Liam as a TiT, Teacher in Training.
as usual, the scots are getting shafted when it comes to booking flights, much dearer than the rest of the uk and im struggling to get the days/flights i want. pah!
I'm on, too. I'll fly from Dusseldorf to Kattowicze on Friday and return on Monday with Lufthansa. Transfer with the bus or train to Krakow.
Was looking at flying in on the Friday night & coming back on the Sunday daytime...
How much are the tickets for the one day..?
Cheers in advance...

Yeah, I've been looking at that - £56 on RyanAir, right?
My Polish friend says the venue is 40 mins out of Krakow...! Not sure how right she is though. Anyone know what the transport system is like?!

well, boo bloody hoo. ![]()
I have no fucking clue where I'll be living in three months time, yet i've sorted something out. Why not just book a train or a coach down to another airport?
2 flights a week direct from "Glasgow" Prestwick.
I'll probably fly from Aberdeen down to Gatwick and on from there, or to Schippol: I bet you can fly from there.
You can fly anywhere from there.
they're at a festival & they are playing three nights there? weird festival.
have to see if can fit this in with all the weddings i've got lined up this year
not mine ![]()

that's a lovely offer col, but you're just not my type.
& typically the one in september is on the 20th.
they must do more dates though, shirley?
hibster wrote:

I suppose they might, it's more and more common these days. It's not a polite way to decline a wedding invitation though. I'd make an excuse rather than saying 'praps catch you at the next one ;o)'. If you are close you are to these people, it might be better to go to the wedding and hope that Kraftwerk play again soon. You'll be missed though.
Booked me, JG, Nobby and Gordie into the Justyna on Jana Pawla II.
Jert sent me this link - Nowa Huta. Centre of Nowa Huta is roughly marked by the 'A'. Went for hotel 'G' to the west, back towards the Market Square. Figure it's equidistant, sort of, between the centre and the gigs?

nevermind.
Where does the gig take place? if its anightmare getting back from I might just head straight to the airport ont he sunday and not bother with a hotel.

Somewhere in Nowa Huta - roughly marked by the big 'A' on the map!
I am a cock ![]()
Err... had everyone else spotted this?

Edit: Now I'm utterly baffled. There's no mention of KW on there.
Something tells me this isn't the last time I'll be baffled during this trip...
Last years Colin.
You just caused a bit of panic when I thought had my flight dates booked for a thursday and that Kraftwerk arent on it.

Thank You. A good Price. I've made a map of it: Krakow - Krakau
The Steel's factory was called Lenin's Factory until 1990, since then it's named after the engineer Tadeusz Sendzimir.
Brilliant work, Norburt!
Looks like the top hotel. Aberdeen Order will book everything up tomorrow. We're flying Sleazy Jet from Edinbugger Fri morning until Sunday morning so just two nights of Werk for us.
I've just had a conversation with a Polish about Krakov. It's very beautiful, apparently. Then she pointed at my shoes and said 'nice shoes, sorry' and pissed herself laughing.
So I won't be wearing those shoes to Krakow...

Good find. You got Alex's email? Dunno if any of his lot need to share, not sure who he's going with?
Uncle Liam wrote: As of last week just me, John, Christine and Nobby. I dont think Barry is up for it.
Alex said there was some old schoolfriend of his going? Or summat?

For example I am Kloot's Johnny. But I think, you can't know this, because you were pre-liquid at this time. :D
Let's hope the Germans and Poles have made friends by September. They certainly weren't on best terms over the weekend...

Are tickets available for the gig yet? I would hate to book the flights/hotels/etc if I couldn't go to the actual gigs! ![]()

good point well put.
Anyone seen the venue? Nice!
Well, apart from the seats - should rip 'em out for KW (just cos I can nip to the bar all the time without disturbing other people on me row).

Don't think they've liked each other much since about 1938 ![]()
It's my hope that the Vikings will use our trip to Krakow to encourage those two proud nations to put aside old differences and learn to love one another once more.
I tried my best in Vienna on Sunday, pissed and armed with face-paints.
It still didn't work though...........![]()
Now I've got my Passport done and the Fixture list has been released, I might have a look at doing the Friday gig and flying back to Liverpool Saturday morning.

Did you miss THIS THREAD? ![]()
Went on sale yesterday. Think everyone's got the 80 zloty tickets which put you in area C1 (unreserved standing).
