Yep he's doing not one...but FOUR venues in one night. He's starting off in CUP (a cafe bar! on Thomas Street,Northern Quarter) where my stepdaughter works....then SANKEY SOAP.....then BEETHAM TOWER (Hilton Hotel)....and finishing off in RUBY LOUNGE (High Street,back of the Arndale).

He would've been playing G-Mex or Nynex a few years ago.

Its just him solo acoustically. His star has fallen though, no doubt...

His last album sounded wholly electronic/loop based to me.
In fact most of his career sounds electronic/loop based to me 
well, you can play Extreme Ways, Natural Blues, we Are all Made of Stars, Lift Me Up on an acoustic guitar. It wont be particularly inetresting but you can do it.
He wont play any of his old stuff (or maybe one or two songs), it will be his new album.

As much as I like a few of Moby's tunes, I wouldn't pay to see him doing acoustic versions.
He's so minted now he'll probably be doing an acoustic spoons tour next.

I read an interveiw with him recently and that seems to be his problem. His wish to be an edgy artiste with minority appeal has been permanently tarnished by the fact that he spent a couple of years when his shite smelt sweet to the massed ranks. He didn't have to sell his song to yoghurt advertising though, so he's only got himself to blame.
I heard him use the word slash in an interview - he actually said Joy Division-slash-New Order - so I wouldn't listen to his music no matter how good it was.
I do have standards, you know.
Are you sure it's not DJ sets he's doing? He played the Sub Club last night (for free) and it was billed as a DJ set. A very cheap, and probably quite effective, way of promoting the fact that you have a new album out.
Anyway, he's shite, always has been. Fuckin elevator music.
He's fucking amazing live. Saw him a few years ago at M.E.N ARENA when "18" had just come out. Electronic,but also a lot of heavy stuff too.Did NEW DAWN FADES and PARANOID!!
I saw him in the Apollo on the last tour. He was very good I'll give him that. And he had a keyboardist who was (and presumably still is) Well fit.
Went on a bit though.
I saw him at the Area 2 Festival and opening for U2 at Slane Castle and I was surprisingly impressed - never given him much thought before that and definitely got the crowd going.
