The Hacienda presents... 21:00 – 03:00 Sunday 28th December £28.50 advance Happy Mondays[ Live at The Warehouse Project ] Mike Pickering Peter Hook [ New Order ] Jon Dasilva

In the late eighties Manchester became famous once again. This time, people weren't talking about the cities football teams, referring to its industrial past or name checking bands. They were talking about a nightclub on the corner of Whitworth Street where something was exploding that was about to define an era and change the lives of an entire generation. House music had arrived in the UK and The Hacienda was about to become the most famous club in the world.

Today of course, the legacy left by The Hacienda is well documented and by now we all know it wasn't just about house music. The Smiths, The Stone Roses and even Madonna all appeared at the club during its 15 year conception as Tony Wilson and the rest of the Factory Records gang attempted to create their own musical utopia. On 28th December we remember the glory days of The Hacienda and celebrate its memory with some of its most famous DJ's and patrons...

Certainly not.

I like how Hooky is still billing himself as "New Order" despite clearly stating he had left the band.

It's rare, but nice, to see Liam say that he likes something.

I'll probably shuffle along to this, if I'm around. It's a bit early for planning Christmas activities though, isn't it?

Well, I might pop along to this - got a shedload of holidays to take by the end of the year, which means effectively from Christmas to beyond New Year is me sitting around doing fcuk all!

It does depend on whether Virgin decide to knacker up the train system, however, which will probably happen (it being Christmas)...

Well, I'll probably not make this now, as there's an alternative gig (Mondays) proposed in Glasgow the day before... :)

Now, if only they would confirm it, then I can book flights/hotels... :thumb:
