Shuttle train service links Krakow’s John Paul II International Airport in Balice with the Krakow Glowny main rail station in the city center. On average, trains run every thirty minutes between 4 a.m. and midnight. The 15-kilometer journey should last about twenty minutes but it often takes longer. A single ticket costs an equivalent of under two euros. One can can purchase tickets on the train. It departs from a stop some 300 meters from the International Terminal T1 (see the note below).

Two municipal bus services are available at a stop situated about fifty meters from the International Terminal T1. Fare is an equivalent of roughly 0.8 euro. Line 292 runs to Zablocie industrial district via Krakow's central bus station every 40 minutes or so in daytime and every hour between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Line 208 connects the Balice airport with the central bus depot and Krakow Glowny central train station and runs every hour from 4:55 a.m. to 9:25 p.m. Nightly bus 902 operates the same route, leaving every hour till 1:26 a.m.

No matter how streetwise you are, you can't become a nightlife expert for a whole city in a mere weekend. Especially not when that city boasts over 400 hundred bars, pubs and clubs! If you're only in town for a couple of days then don't risk spending your nights in a dead dive with a couple of football hooligans for company. Crazy Stag are a bunch of local pissheads, who not only know the best bars in Krakow, but they know the best time to be in those bars. With the help of their comely female guides you'll be taken on a pub crawl full of action, finishing at some hot nightclubs - and if you need some tips on strip bars and adult entertainment then a little wink wink, nudge nudge and they'll point you in the right direction. A must for party animals.

Tram and bus tickets are available from kiosks and special MPK sales points (Podwale 3/5, Bagatela stop, Mogilska 15a, Wawrzyńca 13, Krowodrza Górka – tram terminus). Single tickets are also sold by drivers, and are subject to a surcharge. Tourist Information Centers, selected hotels and travel agencies offer Krakow Tourist Cards which entitle holders to unlimited travel on Krakow buses and trams and to free admission to 32 museums. 2-day cards PLN 50; 3-day cards PLN 65. See www.krakowcard.com

Stansted lot arrive around that sort of time - it's something past 9am... I'll probably need a double shot of caffeine and a pack of cigarettes to try and wake myself up before we even get on the train to the centre!

I will be at the main coach station at 5.45pm. I'm a little bit late, but I have an information of the hotel, there aren't any sunbeds to occupy at the pool because of the bad weather.
