YOUR 'BEST' NEWORDER GIGS

I am looking to put the top 20 New Order gigs as voted by Noolers onto my IPod. I initially was gonna put all my New Order bootleg collection on to it but decided that would be a bit daft. What I would like is for Noolers to post their top 5 gigs, these can be from those you have been to or bootlegs you like for example:-

1. Tower Ballroom 83 – Great ! LWTUA for first time and got pissed
2. Studio 54 Barcelona July 84 – Ace soundboard gig

I will then work out the top 20 and put on my Ipod and if someone can help me (Doc) will share the stuff with you! Here’s my current top 5 gigs:-

1. Royal Festival Hall 84 – Early version of Face Up – and of course Cock Like M1 and Decades
2. Tower Ballroom 83 – Best ever version of Temptation and of course LWTUA dedicated to Rob
3. Studio 54 Barcelona – Best ever Bootleg
4. Olympia 2001 – great return and Viking meet up
5. Wolves 2006 – Another ace meet up, great down front action and the last UK gig

For me a favourte gig list (attended gigs) and a favourite bootleg list are very different things - maybe better as separate polls.

Favourite gigs:

RFH, 1984 Tiffany's, Leeds, (85) Tower Ballroom, Birmingham, (86) Winter Gardens, Malvern, (86) The Apollo, Manchester, (98)

Favourite bootlegs:

Heaven Ultradisco, (81) (wonderful Duncan master with Hannett on the mixing desk - these early gigs are the most interesting listen for me)

The Venue, Blackpool (82) Recreation Centre, Tolworth (83) Studio 54, Barcelona (84) The Fulcrum, Slough (85)

Birmingham Tower Ballroom 83; just love this one, the first live tape I collected

Barcelona 84; classic 84, great quality recording

Doncaster Rotters 85, my favourite year for New Order, great set great crowd...

Heaven 81; great example of 1981 era

Wembley 2006; one of the best and one of their last!

Don't know if this counts as a real gig, but as part of the Aids international day, in 1987 Brixton Academy, saw them for the first time, and was taken aback by the music they played, left with a sore throat, ears ringing afterwards, haha

If that doesn't count, then Wembley '87, cause it was simply good event

Futuram 82,, got back stage in dressing room ,, slim was off his tits , rob had a suitcase full of money, ceasar from the wake got paid in cash from it,, gig was ace,, 586

liverpool state march 26th,,, just a great night,, doesnt translate onto the bootleg though.

haus nied , frankfurt march 1984.. apart from a journey into wales the previous year this was truley the first overses gig,, tonight we play special long set for you,, and off they fucked,, great w/e.

hac december 1985,, twice in a night ,, them were the days,, and on telly as well.. hot..

wembley 87... fantastic encore,, sister ray, love will tear us apart and blue monday,,,, even mrs order enjoyed it.
