THE PIXIES TOUR 2009! Category: Music First announced show! More to come!

Sunday June 14th 2009 - Isle of Wight Festival.

All ticket prices, outlets and other info can be found on the website - www.isleofwightfestival.com

I like the sound of this (the "more to come" bit rather than the Isle Of Wight Festival) - anyone else interested if they play some dates in England?

Absolutely! Haven't seen them since about '91

saw them a couple of years ago on the comeback tour at the Apollo - would love to see them again

not sure.

saw them three times first time round (including the first ever date of the first ever uk tour, then doolittle, then bossanova), each very different & very good.

saw them 4 times since reformed, first three very good (2 at brixton, one in paris), leading me to believe this was a truly consistent great live act, but the last one (at ally pally) they were going through the motions a bit wasn't until they got to tame that the show had any energy. one of the most disappointing gigs i've ever been to that one

Damn, that'll teach me to go on holiday...

They announce a Doolittle tour, including 4 dates at the Brixton Academy in October with tickets going on sale at 9am today...

And they've (obviously) already all sold out... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

yea, this morning was a nightmare, the ticket sites blocked situation.why do they all sell loads of bands gigs tickets all at the same time,9 on a friday so things get blocked.in the end i had to do with Glasgow instead of brixton but at least its something. i am sure you'll get sorted somehow Nick, always a chance some other dates might come yet.

Tried to get standing in London for Friday, then Thursday. No hope.

They're playing in the Dam though. Tempted!

They're doing IOW Fest, Pompey promised to take us over on his fishing boat. And, I made my foil hat months ago.

(Now where's me armbands?)

Got 4 x Friday at Brixton.

Did have 4 for the Thursday too, but they've all gone now. Lad at work didn't get any for Friday so let him have all my Thursdays instead.

Ticketmaster was really good. Logged in just before 9am and had everything sorted 20secs after they'd gone on sale. Had one browser open for Ticketweb too in order to get more Friday and that just kept hanging and finally crashed.

Strange how the sellers differ,i had 4 ticket sites on the go and the ticketmaster one was the one that messed me about saying had dublin friday, then not.so i missed London by then.As i said i have 2 for glasgow but i might just do Brixton on my own on a late buying of single ticket on ebay.just for the pre-gig drinking in the pub bit of course .

I caught 'em back on the original Doolittle tour, and that was so good I purposefully avoided the whole comeback tour thing, for just that reason. That's the Pixies gig I wanna remember. Perfection.

Anyone else seen loudQUIETloud? Highly recommended, though quite sad; from backstage, being in Pixies looks like just another goddamn job.

Maybe Pixies and NO should swap bassists and see how that goes.

Going to see them on November 30th at Constitution Hall in DC. The Pixies are one of those bands I always wanted to see.

 - Doolittle b-sides...

Bailey's Walk: Here Comes Your Man b-side. Last two songs in encore are the other two Here Comes Your Man b-sides.

The others (dance the manta ray/weird at my school/manta ray) are the b-sides to the Monkey Gone To Heaven single.

All great songs, IMO - looking forward to Thursday! :thumb:

Pixies were even louder than the traffic speeding past our Glasgow city centre travelodge all fucking night :banghead: the gig was really great though:thumb:

Good to see you Grant. Glasvegas and Gazman also put in an appearance, even dragged Gaz to the gig. I think he took the piss a bit getting us to drop him off home though when we had a 3 1/2 hour drive ahead of us!

Am only a 20 minute walk from the SECC as well, though with me giving directions,it took us about half an hour in the car!
