What a brilliant night, never thought i'd enjoy hearign cover bands so much. Everyone at the gig was well up it and added to a great atmosphere.
Transmission were 1st up and they blew me away. At the tender age of 36 I am too youg to haver ever seen the real Joy Division. Although New Order do JD songs thje vocals are never dark enough with Sumners tender vocals. Seeign Transmission gave me some insight what it would have been like to see the real JD. Nice tight venue. Great set and a good spread of songs from the obvious (LWTUA) to the not so (No love Lost0. Highlights being Digital and Heart and Soul (my personal favourite JD song) I kept shouting for it so maybe they heard me! I have a feeling this band know every JD song inside out.
Then Re-order came on. These people actually look at bit like NO with the bass player doing his best Hooky impression. Once again very impressed and at times felt like I was at a NO gig which is probably the best compliment you can give. Stated with Perfect Kiss and ended with a sterling rendition of Temptation. In between nice to hear The Village and TBTHOG. My only slight gripe was that they did not do as many of the less famous songs than I would have liked. My endless request for Leave Me Along went unheard! Having said that they were still great and highly recommended. I prefer NO music to JD as a rule but I've seen NO many times where as I have never seen JD so thats why my review of JD may seem estatic.
If yuo ahve any younger friends, or siblings who have never seen NO live then look no further than ReOrder as its highly unlikely NO will ever reform
Overall what a fantstic night for Derby. Anyone who is a NO or JD fan who lives in Derby who missed this be ashamed. Derby does not get many nights to talk about. THANKYOU TRANSMISSION AND REORDER.
