Can any of our Gallic 'friends' suggest a suitable place close to the venue with CHEAP beer, where we can all meet up, pre-gig, please?

Dear Burt.

The Olympia is a venue located on a boulevard which is a deep green one on the French Monopoly game. It is not far from rue de la Paix which is the most expansive...

I hope some other French noolers know where to go. My memories of Paris are now... 10 years old...

We plotted up in an American Diner and an Oirish bar, both close to the venue, in 2001.

When in Rome.

I forgot to say that Bad Lieutenant will show their cases to the public in a mega record store by the Montparnasse Railway station in the afternoon of the 4th.

I have always wondered why the artists need to show what they've got in their suitcases in record-shops. I am not a custom officer...

the other thread about "showcase" Bad Lieutenant sera en show-case à la fnac montparnasse le mercredi 4 novembre à 17h30

There won't be anything cheap near l'Olympia but you have the usual cafés / pubs on boulevad des Capucines and some more in a wider area. Will some of the proud Vikings be attending the showcase?

Again, I think you've made up my mind!

(It's a bit like the meet-up being in Kilburn, and the record shop being in Victoria - eating up valuable drinking time which, since I'm not arriving until about 4, is very valuable)! :evil4:

The showcase: FNAC MONTPARNASSE Metro LINE 12 RENNES or MONTPARNASSE BIENVENÜE

On the LINE 12, MADELEINE is a station near the Olympia.
