Good gig - though the size of the place was surprising - pretty small and intimate. Got an extra track- atmosphere - otherwise the same setlist as other gigs

Well, to be fair, Bernard did look like he was one step away from a heart attack after performing it at Preston. Its all that squatting that he does.........

Great gig and met some nice people there, though didnt catch any names!

One of the most intimate gigs Ive ever been to, and the band were on top form despite several technical hiccups including Barneys guitar passing out on him mid-song but they kept it going!

Set list if I am not mistaken:

Plenty of banter, Barney in a great mood, the band played the best I have ever seen them, miles better than the Ritz and MEN gigs last year

Well, that was a strange venue. A bit of a shit hole really. It reminded me of some of the basement clubs I used to frequent in the mid eighties watching underground bands. I’m guessing it held about 300-350 people. I got there about 8ish and joined the queue of twenty or so punters.

Once in I bumped into Norbert and Matthias who had been in Preston the previous night. Always a pleasure to see them and they’re great lads. Also spotted was everyoneeverywhere at the front too. BL came on about 9.15 and started with This Is Home except they didn’t as Barney’s mic was playing up. Cue roadie to switch it on! As previously stated it was the same set with Atmosphere concluding. Highlights for me were Poisonous Intent, Crystal, Temptation and Transmission. The latter being the best version I’ve heard live.

Barney was on top form despite a dodgy microphone and a guitar which packed in. The old days would have seen a strop but he’s quite calm these days. It was funny how close the stage was to the crowd. “It’s like playing in my living room this!” Obviously he was warned not to talk about the football but he did anyway!

I think the encore was Transmish, LWTUA and Atmosphere and then it was all over. The only criticism I have really is that I would like to have heard a few of the other NCAT songs but in the end it was a mixture of the old and the new. All in all a good nights work for a “bloody Sunday!”

Sorry I didnt speak to you, or if I did, I didnt know who you was

I was waiting for Barney to throw a wobbler as well, quite a few technical problems but somehow it made the gig better just complimented the intimate room and atmosphere in a wierd way. Best BL gig I've been to, could be ever.. I prefer the intimate shows.

To be fair yeah, I did think he might need help getting off his knees after that in Preston

I stood by Norbert for most of the night- loads of room at the front- which was a first for any NO/BL gig that I have attended. One or two couples at the front who obviously felt that being a Sunday would mean it would be a calmer affair than usual- and to be fair it probably was.
