They're playing Wolverhampton civic and Leicester round these parts but don't think i'm that bothered about seeing them this time round. Saw em twice last year.Much more interested in seeing Goldfrapp this year and am going to their Leamington Spa gig in June ![]()
Though i see Doves are playing Eden Project again on a Friday night early July. That's a bit more tempting if i was gonna go see them at all. It's a World Cup night though.
eden proj sold out ages ago
had two spare for wolves (seeing the national same night) but sold them

no great loss. if i really wanted to go i'd just go there on the night and get a ticket off a tout but don't think i'll bother with them this year.got much more important gigs to attend this summer namely Goldfrapp in June and before that Delays in May.

Seeing Delays live is more of a priority for me at the moment. Not seen them live for 4 years and want to see what they're like these days.Saw Doves twice more recently so feel a bit Doves'd out.
I'm hoping they come to the States for some shows.
I see Cherry Ghost is supporting through May. Their debut album was superb.
Johnny, nice one Son. I will be at the Water Rats for the Thursday night in May. If Greg had not of launched his size 7’s at Jim Smith he would probably have scored the goals this season to keep Pompey up where they belong. I hear Aaron and Col are still a bit tidy too. Coincidently, they are supporting Doves in Folkestone.
There is also a memorial fund show at Joiners on May 17 for the families of the two fire fighters tragically killed last week in Shirley.

Went to the Hull gig last night and they were superb (as usual). They played a good mix of new and old and even pulled 'Catch The Sun' from the closet.
Cherry Ghost supported and they were really good.
Enjoy ![]()

sounds excellent..and 'catch the sun' first one i ever saw doves play, radio 1 gig in that park in BOLTON 9 years ago,old indeed !!
glad you enjoyed it all Jemmy ![]()
First saw em at V Festival 2001 .Recall Jimi was smoking a lot on stage and the show was more ramshackle, less professional than these days. Jez seems to look overly serious at getting his guitar parts right nowadays than he did in 2001.Jimi is less scruffy now.Kind of miss the old days.
Birmingham Academy 2002, had the great weird intro film that can be found on Where We're Calling From DVD. Little kid in a mask wandering around an industrial estate til he finds a rainbow
"YOU DO FIIIIND..."
Don't seem to recall catching them on the Some Cities era gigs![]()
Coventry last year was good, they were asking people if they ever used to go to the raves at Cov Eclipse circa 1991 (i did)
They should reintroduce Satellites off Last Broadcast to the setlist

People Help The People is ..alright, it's alright.Actually i've put it on now.Yeah it's a rousing anthem for broken Britain to solidaritise.Or summat
Is solidaritise a word?
DOVES were great as usual .liked black and white town and 'man who told everthing' most tonight.stange though how the locals who held 'blackburn raves' back in 'them days' just drank in the bar all through the set until spaceface was played at the end and they charged in.
the night around the venue continued until whenever (well it was 2 and then i left to go to accrington bar also )
its nice to see a damn decent group locally
:)
